Just wanted to pass on the info.

Chili's Grill and Bar will donate all profits on 9/29/08 to St. Jude's.

September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

To date, Chili's has raised $18.7 million as part of a $50 million commitment to St. Jude over a 10-year period. Once completed, the donation will be the largest donation from a single partner campaign in St. Jude's history.

if we had more business' doing this, the world would be a better place. i've donated a few times too. it's something they do every year. advance auto parts is doing something similar as well but from its customers not profits.

i think it should be required that business' should do profit donations every so often, but then again i'm no business major.

Many companies and individuals donate for tax incentive purposes. People complain about the tax incentives given to the wealthiest Americans, but it's done to promote stuff like this. I'm sure Warren Buffet donates large sums of money to reduce his tax liability, which directly benefits the non-profit agencies and charities like this one. People gripe and complain about them, especially during election times, but I think it's one of the best tax incentives we can offer. My company is the biggest supporter of United Way in Nashville, where big corporate giants exist such as Nissan Corporate, Caterpillar Corporate, HCA Corporate, Dollar General, Bridgestone/Firestone, Caremark etc. etc.

Companies really should become more involved. Their donations have the ability to make the biggest impact. I work for a large privately owned conglomerate, and because we're a private company we have less ability to donate than those mentioned above, yet we're the largest contributor to United Way in Nashville?

BTW, for those who don't know, United Way takes the money donated and distributes it to various charities, including Red Cross, Boys & Girls Club, etc. IMO, it's the easiest way to make sure your donations matter.
