Yep, you heard me.

Jalopnik.com finally put up a full list of every cash for clunkers trade-in and my heart was overjoyed at the fact that I didn't have to walk out into the driveway and tell my tib how many of her brothers and sisters were offered up to the great racetrack in the sky.

Anybody find anything else interesting about the CFC list?

My #1 complaint is definitely that a GNX got trashed, I'd give my tib for a GNX without hesitating.

 

Well I don't think they would have taken tibs because IIRC they had mileage standards and tibs do better.

 

Did they meet the criteria required to be labeled as clunkers? There was certain a certain MPG that the cars had to get, something low, I forget what specifically.

 

^ NOPE. Probably a good reason why none were traded in. Had to average 18MPG or less. I really wanted to trade in my wife's old 98 mustang for a $5,000 Kia

we went to a kia dealer for shits and giggles to test drive a soul. they looked up a tib and just laughed, not eligible one bit. but hell, the red tib was getting better gas mileage than the soul anyways.

 

Well that's wierd, because I saw a few cars that didn't seem to be on the list, like some older volvo 240's, listed as having been turned in...

 

^ those people are going to be mighty surprised to get a $$$$ charge from their dealership if the .gov won't pay the cash for their clunkers.

 

an older man traded in a MINT condition 88 supra turbo at the dodge by my house. have no idea why..

I'm fairly certain that cash for clunkers states 95 or older. Read it today, maybe that's just the Canadian version though?
