Can I have a will made out without going to an attorney?
I saw there are some free Last Will & Testament templates online but how legit is it if I use one of those for myself? Do I HAVE to see an attorney for this kind of stuff or can I use one of the free templates and fill it out myself, and stick it in my home safe?

You can use a template, but you need to be careful about the wording unless you want your heirs to end up in probate court. The amount of money you'll spend for an attorney to spend a couple of hours checking over your Will pales in comparison to the amount it will cost to go to probate court. It's not just relatives fighting each other you need to worry about. If your Will isn't 100% in order, The State can bring a case in probate court on behalf of your estate. At least have an attorney review it before you sign it. When you do sign it, it needs to be in the presence of at least a Notary and sometimes one additional witness.
My attorney only charged me $50 to review my will. Took him about 10 minutes. lol Do yourself a favor and just get it done. Search for estate attorney's in your city and you should find a list of them. Call around, ask how much they would charge you to just review it, and go from there. You don't need anyone special or high end. Just someone who understand the law and has experience doing wills.

If the question is "can I do _______ kind of paperwork without an attorney" the answer should be "go to http://www.nolo.com/ and see what they have, at the very least, then probably have an attorney look at it when you're done."
