"The place is like a museum. It's very beautiful and very cold, and you're not allowed to touch anything." So says the title character in reference to his best friend Cameron's home in the John Hughes classic Ferris Bueller's Day Off. The house in question, which is located at 370 Beech Street in Highland Park, Illinois, is indeed rather beautiful, and it's also for sale right now, listed at a cool $2.3 million.
This 5,300 square-foot contemporary home sits on .75 acres and features four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a giant 40 x 25 living room, but what we're most interested in is the all-glass detached three-car garage out back that's cantilevered over a Ferrari-killing ravine.
One minor word of caution: should you happen to purchase this particular home and have the means to stock the garage with a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California (even if it is just a fiberglass-bodied replica based on an MG), we suggest you keep the door locked.

Nice house, but that's way too much.
Your funny man. You think thats expensive. You should see what sells out here in So Cal. You get HALF the house and you pay the same possably more.

So houses in SoCal are WAY too freaking much. Doesn't make this any more reasonable based on that.
I was taking into account that the house is located in Illinois.
