Cali passes law to teach gay history in school

I'm not really sure why it is necessary to do this since we are taught about significant historical figures no matter what their sexual orientation may be.
The Assembly passed 49-25 a bill approved earlier by the Senate that would direct social-science classes and texts to include the “role and contributions” of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people.

Wow, no matter how early they started telling me about gay people it wouldn't have made me gay.
I think a lot of "straight" people must teeter on the edge of gayness, or at least be afraid that they are right on the edge. I don't understand the freakouts so many people have over gayness.
You might be able to talk someone into doing something gay (someone talked me into listening to country music once), but you could never talk them into being gay.

As far as this goes I am glad I don't live in Cali. It's not something kids should have to hear and it's not important to know weather someone was gay when they did something. Let the history speak for itself.
