I don't think 20k would make a difference to anything ever

However, it's a good PR stunt. I think it's taking the piss for the article to comment on the president taking golf trips or vacations though. I would say that being a president would be a somewhat stressful job, let the man play some friggen golf once in a while.

its like sh*t, i guess no one is allowed to take a day off of work EVER

yes its a PR campaign but the fact that hes doin it even though he cant be re-elected says somethin about his character. lets see if members of congress follow suit although those guys would just ask for 20% increase in bribes to make up the difference.

^Not after he's through! This is a joke. 20k per year isn't half of 1 student loan lol.

Democrats blame the Republicans for the sequester, but are oblivious to WHY the sequester/fiscal cliff happened--it was a NONPARTISAN law to limit endless spending! We went from $9 trillion in 2008 to 16.5 in 2012. Republicans fault?

Ok let's forget about the blame game here for a minute. The next guy democrat or republican will be sworn into 20 Trillion dollars.

The bulk of the gov't workforce is looking at having to take off one day of work a week, in order to help the sequestration cuts. 1 day per week is 20% of your income for as long as the sequester lasts. He thinks he's "doing his share" by giving up FIVE PERCENT?

No wonder math doesn't work in DC...

lol don't forget he doesn't have a mortgage or utility bills to worry about. Plus food will always be on his table and his car will always be full of gasoline.

returning part of your check when you have no need for money anyways is a gesture don't get me wrong, but its sorta in bad taste to those who NEED the 14 days worth of income (...like me for example)

ps strike...the furloughs are 14 days

5 days a week x 52 weeks = 260 work days

14 / 260 = 5% reduction in pay

Any word on whether or not he'll stop flying two 747s around the country campaigning for his legislative agenda, or maybe stop taking multi-million dollar vacations on our dime?
