My dad took these pictures today. I'm not sure what it is. It was taken from his backyard. The second picture shows something mounted on top?

 

Its called a seawind. Pretty cool stuff really.

 

It's a seaplane (flying boat type - in which the actual fuselage floats rather than special floats under the aircraft).

The thing on top is its engine, you can see the propeller in the first pic if you look closely. It's mounted like that so it stays out of the water at all times

Im gonna say its a boat though
I bet its one of those prototypes that fly and boat.

 

Apparently it's a $350,000 Seawind.
