Hockey is the shizz, a friend of mine and I came up with a really easy way to gauge sports.

Look at the skill needed and gauge how difficult it is to learn.

Basically look at baseball and basketball.

Baseball
Hit a ball flying at 90mph
Catch a ball.
Throw a ball to a general area the close the better obviously.

Basketball
Throw a ball through a 2 ft round hole.
Catch a ball.
Jump 5 ft in the air.
Run
Dribble ball.

Now I can go into ruthless details about baseball but I'll stick to these to be civil laugh.gif:

Anyway look at how it may be tough to do some of the skills listed and gauge whether or not it's a sport.

Just for fun here is paintball, which started this thread.

Run
Hide
Shoot, while on the run sometimes, or long distances.

I'm sure there's more but........

How difficult is a game when the average score is 100.

Hockey stupid as hell. Livin up in north MN, you have alot of hockey players, most of them are all little Biznitches, whine Arsses. ( no offense to any one out there that plays hockey)

I'm a hockey player, and that is a sport. Trust me play it.

 

basketball. i think might take just a hint of accuracy... maybe a little. im not sure.

hockey.. those guys can A. Skate, which for me is hard enough. and B. they are coordinated enough to shuffle that puck around. now i played in school with a ball in my shoes and its hard as hell. I cant imagine doing it on ice.. on top of that they can hit that puck moving as fast as they are in the Exact location they want. that is skill.

RACING!! Nascar and Formula that is my favorite sport. that takes strategy, patience, quick thinking, good instincts, and good ass driving. And its an all american sport baby!! doesnt get much more patriotic then that. cept they pissed me off when they entered a toyota in there. but oh well..

 

Basketball doesn't take accuracy.

How much accuracy is there involved when you physicly put the ball in the basket.

The guys are in good shape, I give them that, but the game is a joke.

Look at the fight from earlier this year.

Silly ass kids game.

Nothing else comes close.
Also, most (SO CALLED) "Extreme Sports" have not stood the test of time like that has.
Mainly becuase they were just recently created..... how long do you think snowboarding is going to last???
(before you answer that, keep in mind how fast most of the glaciers on our planet are receding now).

Paintball IS fun, BUT I would not call it a sport. Recreation.

Paintball rocks, I have a Tippmann 98 custom(nothing special) and play in the woods around our house with some friends. I'm not sure if I'd consider it a sport or not but it is very fun too play.

 

I think thats absolutely absurd. Can you physically put a ball in the hoop, without even having a 6'7'' person trying to stop you? Aside from dunking you can't possibly tell me basketball doesn't take accuracy, thats absolutely ridiculous. Just because there was a fight doesnt mean the game is a joke. Some of the players on the other hand are immature and act brash but that shouldnt and doesnt reflect the sport itself. Now i dont know how can call NASCAR a sport, granted its difficulty, but i juts dont see it
