QUOTE (UrS0NvS @ Apr 7 2008, 02:38 AM)
why carry something in hiding that you want to use as a deterrant when you can't go into any public place with. if you carry, keep it out in the open.

I myself have a license to carry concealed. To be honest, Pizza Hut does have the right to keep their employees from carrying weapons while they are doing there jobs. I believe it usually states in CCW application rules, that it is up to your employer whether you can carry on the job in all cases except body guard which you need a different license.

As far as choosing to open carry versus concealed carry, the only time I would open carry is if I was hunting or hiking out in the field. In this day and age you would probably have 10 people call the cops if they saw you walking down the road with a holster. As far as your safety goes, you are probably better off in a concealed carry situation than an open carry. Think about it, if someone knows you have a nice handgun on your side, how easy would it be for them to get a buddy to distract you while they snuck up behind you and forced your weapon from you? At least with concealed carry you have the element of surprise on your side.

I have submitted my complaint and disagreement with Pizza Hut's policy against allowing their employees to legally protect themselves. I have posted this on a local forum that is heavily PRO-firearms - I await to see the flood of energy towards Pizza Hut, as I know they will post elsewhere.

Schools, by law, restrict firearms.

Any business can ban firearms upon entering, and you have to abide if they have it posted.

^^ That is correct, any business that wants to disallow firearms on the property can do so. However, they must have signs visible at all public entrances. I have noticed that most walmarts display a sign at one entrance only and it is a 6"x6" sign, hardly highly visible.
