noob - you make it very hard to read your posts. Please use proper punctuation and line breaks to help our members decipher your posts. You'll receive better responses that way. When people open the thread and see a long paragraph with 2 periods, they aren't likely to read it. If you break it up into easy to understand questions and comments, broken up by separate lines, people can check the thread real quick and see what the issue is.

majikTib: that's not so nice. u would bash someone making quote "punctuation" unquote errors. that's not too nice. infact often times its been said and proven even if u spell something wrong but the first and last letter match u can still understand what the person is saying without even thinking. so no. chances are by the looks you was infact the only person who noticed it. and hence u'd note it most likely to be rude. or something similer and make yourself out to be a nice guy kindly pointing that out. A. its not nice. B. its rude. C. may wanna try being nicer. someday u may actully need me for something. anyways....

DrivingTibNaked: yes i've checked it a few times i never get 13 volt period. i get 12.0 started turn on headlights get 11. kick on other stuff such as heater defroser ect. i get down to about 9-10volts i been thinking the alternator for a while. just trying to be sure because i had this similer problem as i have noticed before. may need to check everything over.

REDZMAN reason i did not take it to the car to autozone is the clutch is still goofed it won't go over 30 tongue.gif i got a new one but not had it installed yet tongue.gif

i shall go over everything with a meter maybe i'm missing something. or its just bad!

If the first and last letter are correct, you can mix the middle letters up. They still have to be the right letters.
And I don't think he was trying to be mean. <--^^ this is a lot easier to read than this people don't like spending time readig stuff when they are busy and what not

^^ If you aren't making 13V at all times when the car is running, then you probly have a problem with the alternator.

BTW... that's only if you include all the proper letters. The frist and lsat lteters hvae to be the smae.

I was attempting to be as direct as possible while being as nice as possible. I responded to your question, and was honestly trying to help you. I've been on the forums for years, and started out knowing NOTHING. If you make your questions easy to read and understand, you'll get more responses, that's just how it goes. You're new, so I was trying to provide some guidance. You completely misunderstood my intention.

I reread my reply, and still don't see where I was rude. I also WAS NOT the first to mention it, RED ZMAN mentioned it in the first reply to this topic. I was expanding on his comment.

what are you getting the reading from? Is it directly connected to the battery or are you tapping into a wire?

It was plenty nice Tim. This is the problem that your brother got so pissed off at on the site. Majiktib is a supermoderator here, and he's trying to help you get more answers here. If you post just a thick paragraph with little punctuation and capitalization, you'll get few answers.

Trust me, it's true, I've dealt with forums for many moons now, and the poorer the grammar, the fewer folks that will read, or even look at your threads. I've got many members here who I don't bother to read their threads at all, because I'm not going to spend 2 hours deciphering what they have to say.

Majik didn't bash you, he's just trying to help you get as many answers as possible, by making your posts more readable. You can look around, we suggest it to folks a lot. You don't have to of course, but you won't get much help in that case/

Misspelling is one thing, and if everything is easy to read, people can get past that, but one 4 inch long paragraph at 12 pt font is hard to read. Majik wasn't rude or "not nice" in any way at all. He's a religious man and very patient, and very calm. I reread that post 4 times now, and there isn't anything even slightly rude in it. The only way to be nicer would be to offer you a free cookie in that post. LOL No one else posted here about it, because they saw your first post on this thread, and went away.

I'm only in here because of the previous drama, and wanting to make sure stuff doesn't get out of hand again.

I instruct new folks on this all the time, so do other members, but many here are very wary about advising anyone new, after the previous site attacks.

I'd ask you to re read what Majik said, and see where anything rude was written. If you took offense to it because maybe you don't spell well, don't take offense. A LOT of folks online are just LAZY and don't take time to type properly. If you dont' spell well, we have no issue with that, just break up your paragraphs a bit with the enter key, to make it easier to follow.

Sound good?

Last note, as Majik said, I DID say the same thing to you, in the first reply to this topic. cool.gif

Majik was actually giving you good advice, and he was trying to help (and I think he was nice about it). I know I started reading your post and then just gave up because it's hard to read, so he IS right.

Hey bro, I don't have anything against you.

I may have come across rude, and I apologize. I'm a professional businessman and communicate frequently online, through e-mail, or one-on-one. Because of my position, I am forced to speak with CFOs, Controllers, CEOs, Directors, and high level executives of our companies.

I was honestly just trying to help. When I'm at work, I will glance at the threads to see if I can quickly offer some advice. When I see a huge block of text, it's hard to quickly pick out the questions and problems a member is having. If I can't do it quickly, I'll overlook it and return later. I'm sure I'm not the only person to do so. You're new to our site, so I was sincerely trying to provide some help.

so after looking this down a lil more i noticed a few other odd inconcistencies. A the alternator belt seems to run nice till u apply the gas then it seems to jump around a bit. theres a good bit of play in it. i also notice my dash lights ect seems to bounce in and out of brightness as gas is applied and let off.. i'm not sure how these alternators are held in my asumption would be a tension pully. if not i dunno! it was nearly 75 degrees yesterday! so i had time to check a few things anywho, maybe its posibule its dieing from driving it around the yard due to the belt moving around so much its not generating a charge. any other input? my guess is i will check everyones idea in a few days laugh.gif wo0t hope everyone enjoys the week i gotta start moving my stuff tomrrow threw tuesday! so have a good one everyone. as always thanks for the help/input
