Ati 9600
I acctually own a 9600xt and I love it. I had NVIDIA's before this one (geforce 2 ti, geforece 4400 ti) and I have ot say I really like this card. If im not mistaken ATI once had problems with drivers because it varied by card. Like I said I love this card and I have recomended it to many other people

the ATI 9600 isn't a bad card. I am working with:
Radeon 9800XT
3.4ghz P4 processor
2gb of RAM
And for some reason I still find games that are a little choppy at the highest resolution (Battlefeild 2, Doom 3). So your card should work perfectly for you, just tone down the resolution a little bit.

I've got a Radeon 9600xt, and I had the pleasure of using it this weekend on my parents HDTV.

I've got a Nvidia in my workstation here at work, and its ok, but then i don't get to play games and stuff here mad.gif .
My home PC =
AMD XP 2800 (OC'd @ 2.187)
w/ 1 gig of pc2700 ddr
SB Audigy 2 Value
Logitech x530's
17" Sony LCD @ 1280x1024
32" Sony Wega not completely set up for PC use yet. (Overscanning and resolution still being tweaked)
I think you made a good decision, I played Doom III for a while w/ it and it would occasionally have a very slow frame rate, but that was before I oc'd my gpu. Since then, np's.
I've been looking into a newer (pcie) card and for now, i think I'll just stick w/ my radeon. I'm too lazy to swap out my MB for the third time......besides if I'm going to do that, I'll go w/ a faster processor and memory, which I can't afford at the moment. Eventually I will.
Now as for your memory, another 512 should suffice, add an extra gig for even better performance.
Windows XP uses damn near the full 256 it says is bare minimum, so w/ only 512 you have 256 left for all other apps running....
