My father had a car just like that.. but in Green. I think he went through two transmissions in 75,000 miles. I would definatly consider a manual swap.
Personally, I would like to work on a new sonata. Get the v6 with the Six speed out of the GK.. and drop the Ripp Mods S/C on it and go BMW hunting.
