Just wondering if theres any other benefits to having a threaded barrel besides having the ability to attach a silencer.. or do people just do it for looks?

 

Gives you a very slightly longer barrel -> slightly longer barrel = slightly better accuracy, but no other benefit...

 

You could attach a brake. Or a grenade launcher. Or a golf ball launcher. Or you could mount a nut to the ceiling and thread the barrel into the nut in the ceiling, for storage. Then when the goblins break in, you jump up and spin around (in the proper direction hopefully) and unscrew the gun from the ceiling, and shoot them all dead as you bask in awesome.
