I was wondering for all you gurus of the audio systems might be able to help me.

In the SRT4 it has a pretty good stock audio setup. it has 2 kicker tweeters, 2 kicker door speakers, 2 kicker rear 6 x 9s and a 10" sub. the only part thats really lacking for what i want is the receiver.

it came with a single CD player and a 6 CD changer which is nice, but it doesn't have the capabilities to play mp3 CDs or hook up an mp3 player.

I was wondering if there is something out there that you can wire up some sort of interceptor or some module/unit LOL so i could hook up an mp3 player and have it work with the stock receiver.

and im not talking about those crappy FM transmitters, i want something (if they even make something like it) that i can wire in and basically make my MP3 player work as my CD changer or something of the sort.

I just would rather not buy some cheapo CD player and have it installed if i don't have to.

i know nothing about your srt-4 but these are some things you can do for my Mazda 6. I just figured they may get your wheels spinning or something or maybe give you an idea of what to look for. Maybe you can even find a way to use one of these or something similar

you can get a piece that is a in and out hook up to your radio antenna and it has an aux input on it and you tune your radio to 88.9 and it will run off that! check radio shack for it

Have you investigated in-line RF Modulators? They work like wireless transmitters, except they hardwire into the antenna line and are powered off of the car. They overcome all of the shortfalls of the wireless transmitters including sound quality issues, but it still looks like you're still listening to the radio.

yeah, i found a bit of info on the FM modulator things. it would be a decent choice, but a last resort. I'm looking for as close to the digital sound or CD quality as possible instead of FM quality.

I am going to post that plug n play AUX in on my srt forums and see why it might mess with the key immobilizer.. doesn't make much sense to me. all you do is unplug the CD changer and plug that thing in and voila.. ill have to look into the immobilizer.

That's an FM modulator like I was talking about. You get good sound quality out of them, one step below CD quality. Better then a tape player, much better then radio or wireless modulation.
