they have similar things in NYC...but they just go up and down not around and around.

crazy, I wouldn't trust my car up on it.

Ive seen that in Bombay, India and in Dubai, UAE.

I remember when I was 15, they had an open air one in Atlantic City (which still has a parking problem) but it did not last due to the corrosive effects of salt air on the mechanism and the computer controls.
