Angles Win Series....Bond's Doesn't!!!!!!
Truely a happy day. Bond's is only so great because the pitching is so crappy...as evidenced in the Series. I'm glad the Angels won, though I would have preferred that Seattle been there. At least it wasn't the Yankees or gawd forbid...Atlanta there.
But what about the crappy pitchers that tossed him softballs? Shouldn't they get an award too...for making him look better than he really is?

Bonds really is that good... 73 home runs doesn't come easy.

What do you call 73 home runs? The man can put the wood on the ball. That takes skill. It's not his fault that pitchers are intimidated by him, (thus the amount of walks and base on balls).

Nothing like the Laker celebration though...
Not so fast my friend! The Mavericks are going to OWN the Lakers this year...
The best hitter ever is still Griffey Jr... dang strike...
The walks just got insane for Bonds... 15 years from now, we'll look back and say "WTF would you walk someone that much?"
God I'm glad hockey is here... worst.baseball.champions.ever. tongue.gif

It does in this age of watered down pitching. Bond's is not the only one with great numbers. Even average hitters are maintaining numbers into the 40s each year. The number of homers in the World Series even attests to the weakness overall of modern pitching. Its too many teams and too few quality players. MLB is not nearly as bad as the NBA though.

Very true scourge, but still, how many players have hit 73 home runs in a season?
When Mark McGuire (sp?) hit 70 everyone was so happy that he did it, when Barry hit 73 a lot of people really didn't care and probably wanted him to not break the record.
In my opinion... the best home run hitter still playing is Palmero in Texas. He has 35 or more home runs in like 8 seasons in a row. More consistant than ANYONE.
Now then, did anyone watch PTI on ESPN today? Tony agrees... Bonds should of been the MVP.

So it's Barry's fault that pitchers can't deliver?
