Sure..just follow the Random Special CAI instructions and change a couple of small things for it to fit her car, and before you know it...that girl will be all over you for helping her out. Just be sure to post any and all pics of her if she's cute. wink

'84 Camry is carburated. CAI not a good idea...

Tell the girl to do a 2JZ-GTE swap, then she can use the CAI. It should look like this when done.

Naw man, JK, if Jed is correct, then putting in a bonnet scoop and adding a K&N carby filyer and a heat shield plate under it to isolate the filter from the engine heat and radiator fan heated air should fulfill the puropse of CAI on carburetted engine.

You can still do CAI on a carburated engine, but it changes things a bit. The more dense air will affect A/F ratios, and cause the car to run a *bit* more lean. Carburated systems are calibrated for some of this anyway, so it might make it just run better in the summertime, but could be a bad thing™ in the winter.

IIRC, the Camry's intake is a snorkel off of a canister. Your best idea may be just to extend the snorkel to the front of the car, and get a higher flow air filter (Like a drop-in K&N.) Increasing the diameter of the snorkel would be the next step, but not really necessary until there are a lot more supporting mods.
