Well, it hit 3.999 yesterday. In my book, that's $4. Let's take bets for when it will be $5/gallon. I say 53 weeks from now. Currently, I spend $300-$400/month in gas.

1) Convert the tib to biodiesel
Seriously?
What would that entail? Remapping the ECU for diesel? Different type of fuel filter?
I could get access to pretty cheap Biodiesel and I have to admit my mind wondered in that direction for a little bit...

Makes me sick just looking back a year...
You may want to look up Greasecar on google. I have a book on this stuff as well "From the fryer to the fuel tank" that explains this pretty well.
You would just need to drop a diesel engine in a tib and plumb a few things...

Yeah it hit $4 a week ago here. I'm expecting it to be to $5 by Labor Day.
I agree with you to an extent. I absolutely hate those huge Escalades and Expeditions and Suburbans. People here in the burbs are obsessed with them, EVERYONE had one. But lately Ive been seeing more cars on the road. There are still those out there that somehow have no problem paying close to $4.50 a gallon for diesel to drive their huge trucks/SUVs. Go figure.

^A local cop, eh? That doesnt surprise me though, around here they get paid $100k+ so they think they can do whatever they want. And everyone smokes pot and everyone knows someone that deals drugs. This place is fvcked...but I digress. I could go on for days about that issue.
