I honestly don't think anyone noticed Nate.
All calendars have shipped out for those who have paid, except for optimoprime. If you don't receive your calendars in a reasonable time, PLEASE let me know!!
A Christmas card that was sent to the Netherlands took a week, but one sent TO the U.S. from the Netherlands took nearly a month!!

Got mine yesterday, and love it! It's a little thin, a touch smaller than I expected, and the paper isn't the highest quality. That being said, it was a $14 well spent, and would gladly do it again.
Thanks for all your work guys!

Many people have stated they would pay more for a higher quality calendar next year. What would make it higher quality to you?
Thicker paper?
Better quality pics? (must submit high quality originals to print high quality)
Bigger calendar?
I also see that most people would NOT pay $10 more for better calendars. What's a good price then?
This year we had calendars for $13.52, including EVERYTHING. I can't imagine getting them any cheaper! They cost just under $6 per calendar to print (minimum 100 printed), but once shipping was included to me, a $75 set up fee, taxes, shipping to each individual, paypal fees, and accounting for unsold calendars... the lowest I could get it was $13.52 a piece.
Last year I show that I paid $24 for the calendar. This year they were more than $10 cheaper, almost half the price. To set something up for next year, WHAT DO YOU WANT TO SEE IMPROVED? How much would you pay for it?

I think it looks real good, I like it a lot.
Honestly, I think the distortion Nate saw in that pics is due to that calendar being slightly bent in the middle, I see no distortion on mine.
Just a small improvement i would have liked - if the pages with pictures would be a bit glossy like posters.

just so people know, the pics we were giving were mostly good except a few.
for tibbymats, the only pic that was a decent picture for the main picture was 640x480 pixels.... thats about 1/3 MP 307200 pixels.. i requested AT LEAST 2MP pics 2000000 pixels..
so that pic, i had to upscale and smooth out from 640x480 to the 2500x1800 we used for the overall image to get a good 'dpi' (~210dpi or so)
also, pascoiles pics were 1024x768 which is about 4/5 MP 786432 pixels. i did the best job at upscaling/smoothing/sharpening with those pics, but i could only do so much.
next year, the only way i will volunteer to do these, is if EVERYONE for their respective months send 3MP pics.. anyone can afford a 3MP camera these days, especially if your putting hundreds/thousands into your cars.
you can easily see in the calendar who sent the best pics.
the calendars this year were OK. the bindings were nice, the RDTIB logo next to the month was nice, the pre-drilled hole was nice.
the image 'modifying' was TERRIBLE (copy/pasting to add height to the pics)
would be MUCH nicer printed with a higher quality printer (so the images print just like the digital file (brightness/contrast, etc)
also would be nicer to have someone that can do border to border printing, or add a black background for each month to prevent the ugly 'white space'
glossy paper would be a real nice touch also. super matte photos never look very good to me.

honestly i think the calendars should be about ~20 bucks and have all the best qualitys from both the past years. having a cheap calendar is nice but i would rather spend 5-6 bucks more to get quality

I was shopping around for the cheapest calendars possible this year. I didn't know how many would sell with the economic conditions some people are being exposed to. I wanted everybody to have the ability to order a calendar.
2007 - ~25-30 sold
2008 - ~45 sold
2009 - ~65 sold
We sold more than I thought we would! Many of the buyers from 2007 and 2008 aren't even members anymore, so our newer members are participating and buying calendars. If people are willing to spend $20 total on calendars, that will allow us to shop around more next year and find a good product.
I would have preferred a thicker and more glossy paper, bleed to the edges (thought I would get it on these, but I guess I didn't specify that I wanted it), and higher quality print.
The binding, pre-drilled holes, and RDTib logo were the parts of the calendar I really liked. I'm glad so many people were pleased with the calendars. We'll use this information to have better calendars next year. fing02.gif

With SOCKS' help, I'm currently considering this for next year's calendars. It looks like we can get them for $20 if we sell 50, which puts the price about $5 higher than this year.

It also allows for glossy paper, 100 pound stock instead of the 50 pound we got this year, and rush delivery (3 days) instead of waiting two weeks like this year. Since people are willing to pay a little more, we might be able to get a higher quality calendar next year.
Only drawback is the calendar is 8.5 x 11. I called their "customer support" and they said it was for each page, but the lady I talked to was really slow (not all there), so I'm still uncertain.
