does anybody know why hyundai skipped the tiburon that year? i could not find any information about that and dont know why but it really bugs me not knowing why

Because the third generation Tiburons started with the 2003 model year. They were actually released in 2002 as 2003 models.

i think it was January when pictures were available online, Febuary 2002 when the new tiburon was officialy unveiled in Frankfurt Auto show, Germany. then come August/September/November 2002 dealer inventories started filling up and began selling these things as 2003 model.

there were no RD's in 2002.

i thought some were still released in 2002 overseas before the GKs. I'm guessing i read something wrong.

Check the driver door frame.It'll tell you what month and year the car was made.Mine was July/2001.Kind of late for a 2001 model.The last 6 numbers on your VIN,indicate what number the car is off the assembly line.Not sure why my car is not a 2002!Must be marketing tactics.Larrs
