Default 2001 Supercharged Jimmy Diamond Ed.

Hey guys, last night my father and I finished installing a Powerdyne Silent Drive Supercharger system onto his 4.3L 2001 Jimmy Diamond Edition w/ towing package. The kit also came with JBA shorty headers (bolts right up to stock exhaust).

The kit uses the stock ECU, and we already had a K&N Filtercharger system, so we used the downpiping from the K&N kit. A new FPR was also installed, which came with the kit.

We also ordered a new high flow MAF and it should be in tomorrow. Sometime next week we are looking at putting in Exhaust. A new Chip is the next upgrade after that.

Powerdyne says their kit is supposed to put out around 270 - 285 HP on a completely stock 4.6L. Since we live in Palmdale, going over to their factory to get them to help on stuff won't be a problem. (Their plant is in Lancaster, the city next door to us.) We'l have to run a dyno to test and will be taking the truck to the track this coming wednesday @ LACR.

Lemmie tell ya though, it hauls @$$ now!!! Haven't really run into any problems. Broke a spark plug installing the headers and did alot of putting on then taking stuff off again cause we *forgot* something. Took about 14 hours all together to put the headers and supercharger system on. Lots of cuts, bruises, cussing and sore muscles. But in the end all worth it.

Only issue we've seen so far is one time at WOT, CEL light came on, then went off again 2 seconds later. And at 5000+ RPM, seems to have a slight missfire. May possibly be something with ECU getting used to new equipment. So we're going to give it a couple days and see how it does. We're hoping a chip will solve any other minor issues. Possibly a MSD igition system should be something to look at?

Anyhow, once I get a chance, I'll try posting some pictures.
