Some are great, some aren't so great.
Submit your suggestions or arguments.
I personally love the weather add-on. Not sure if it's exactly what I have at home or not, but it's nice to glance at status bar and see current temps and tomorrow's weather without depleting your system resources

I say that not all those extentions should be in the 20 must have ...
The ones I have and think they are must have :
IE Tab
Gmail manager
Firefox Showcase (not a "must have" but a cool one)
All-in-One Gestures (there are others similar out there)
Download Sort (this is quite usefull!)
Forecastfox (I don't use it, I use the meteo Yahoo Widget)
The rest might be too specific to be a "must have", like the developpers tools.
And one that is not in the article but that is VERY usefull is NoScript
All JavaScript are blocked or allowed by default, after that you can block/allow sites with one click, quite usefull for those damn ad and popups!!!
