Somehow I think they were under the influence or very immature kids thinking they can pull off drifts down a residential street.

Any how, my condonlences go out to their families.

could be, a similar crash occured in my town last week, kids from my old high school were driving a newer Infinity and crashed it on a curvy road, they were driving fast because another car was chasing them. The kids in the Infinity had thrown eggs at the other car earlier. This is one of the reasons why Im not buying my kids a car.

While I feel sorry for their families, looking at the vid and pics, they were speeding, WAY over the limit, and slid off the road, into the side of that tree and the roots at the bottom, airborne, into that other tree and the carport. They were young, driving WAY TOO FAST, and yeah, were probabably under the influence of something, if not just pure stupidity of peer pressure.

Remember these things when you decide you want to see if you can make that corner at that speed, or when you want to impress someone.

it's got five lug wheels...

From what I understand, the GK is less forgiving in it's handling than the RD. It's limits are higher (stock) therefor when an immature and inexperienced driver screws up.. he gets in WAY over his head in a hurry.

we don't drive the safest cars either...

I trust my driving ability and know my car's abilities, but i just don't trust my tib in an accident, PERIOD.

Yup, GK. Look at the mirror in the last pic. They had to have been going over 100mph for that kind of damage.

You should.. save against an SUV.. the tib does VERY well against other cars. I nailed a car in the rear with mine after he got hit in the side.. I ripped his back bumper off and all I did was scuff the paint and scratch the headlight on my car.

I definately agree that those KIDS were speeding (60mph at least) in a residential neighborhood that has 30mph signs.

Sorry, but comparisons don't work that way. The rear of cars are MEANT to crumble severely. They absorb the shock when some idiot rear ends you. owned.gif

If the scenario was reversed, the Tibs rear would look like shit, and the other cars front end would look ok.

I've been in an accident at 55mph and hit a car head on at about 20mph, total impact speed of 75mph and it didn't do anywhere near that kind of damage. Engine was pushed all the way to the windshield, but the rest of the car was still recognizable.
