But this shooter said he wanted to kill white people, especially white officers. THAT is a real hate crime, but will probably be an over looked statement.

In related news, from an article I read earlier, President Obama actually made a statement condemning these kind of acts against police. I honestly didn't think I'd hear that out of him following this act of terror. While I haven't heard his full statement all I read was the article, I didn't see anything about gun control this time either. Which was a nice change of pace. He was probably just happy the heat was taken off Hillary for a little while.
He did mention gun control. Nothing will stop him from doing that, no matter how bad the incident.

President Obama has previously said we *should* politicize tragedies to advance political goals. EXPECT him to dance in the blood of the dead to try to gin up support for gun control. That's his way.

Don't read too much into that order, Tibbi. It seems fairly innocuous to me and I don't trust the man as far as I can throw him.

If Hillary becomes President, she'll follow Obama's footsteps in gun control.

She's worse! She has on several occasions publicly denounced the NRA and labeled them as political terrorists. She has also stated that NO ONE should be allowed to own assault rifles, or anything with large magazines. If she gets elected, I would not doubt that she'd force some kind of insane gun control policy and use executive orders to do it.

The problem with #_____LivesMatter movements is that the people holding the signs expect you to read it with an unspoken "too" added to the end, but I and a lot of other people tend to read it with an unspoken "more" added to it.

Police are really out of control. Not all of them by any means, but too many of them. I've had way too many seriously negative interactions with police in my life due to heinous crimes such as working swing shift, driving a nice car in a poor neighborhood, and the always ambiguous. Sure I've never been shot, but I also am damn sure to comply with what I'm being told. It's really frustrating to hear people say "Well you should just comply with all orders and you won't get shot." This is great advice to not get shot, but it shouldn't be required if you're acting within your rights. Even if you're not acting within your rights unless you're an imminent threat simply not following orders shouldn't be a valid reason for shooting someone.

I don't want to bring individual cases up because a lot of them are open to interpretation and it's hard to say what it was like being there vs. watching a video. I will say however that overall there are far too many cases where people are shot for noncompliance when they're not an imminent threat. I know, sometimes they are, and sometimes they are for reasons not apparent in a video. Sometimes they're not though, and I'm looking at an overall trend that I find disturbing.
