I haven't seen a LOT of the footage from 9/11, and this is on History HD right now.

My god man.

MY GOD.

How quickly people here forget.

Goddamn I'm pissed all over again. I want frigging BLOOD. I haven't been this angry since it actually happened.

That's why I haven't watched it yet.

No Java, I'm serious, some of us were so busy that day all we saw was heavily processed stuff afterwards, or maybe some of the major news stuff during it. This is raw footage from the scene and from other folks in other buildings that were videotaping it.

I heard about seeing the people jumping, but I never saw an;y of that before today.

I just really...

I want to book a flight to somewhere and kill someone.

I was working swing shift that day, so I got to see the whole thing as it happened. I should have scheduled it to record so I could let me kids see why we are in this war right now.

It's too painful to watch again, so I skipped the video.

I remember all too well when it happened..I saw the towers burning in the distance while standing on a bridge in my town where I used to live. I remember being pissed off for a while and heartbroken when I saw those videos of people jumping to their deaths..

I still have the print out of the news story when it exactly happened.

Its an unreal event that I think people will never forget. I know I sure as hell won't seeing as it was so close to home at the time.

I'm a bit calmer after having a night of sleep, but I really am still hearbroken by 9/11.

This event is 2 hours long, no commercials, no spin, just video. There's like 15 minutes of interviews with the video takers at the end. I don't know if the video is available at the link I posted, feel free to post if it is.

I honestly think everyone needs to watch this again. Remember what happened, remember how we felt afterwards, remember what we were told at that time, and remember why we are where we are now.

Remember.

As for me, what was I doing when it went down?

Believe it or not, I was in the middle of packing my car with my army gear to head to Fort RIley, I was supposed to fly in 2.5 hours to California for training at the National Training Center in the Mojave.

We got recalled and locked the base down, everyone loading up their weapons with ammunition and going out patrolling the borders of the base, putting up concertina wire and questioning everyone. We had our radiation meters and chemical/biological defense detectors out.

I was on the 6th flight allowed to leave after that.

We were sure we were being deployed to the Middle East after our training, and we were ready to go. EVERONE wanted revenge, and we wanted our part of their ass.

But even the military, within 4 months, we were no longer carrying live ammunition on us while patroling the bases. Our constant nightly reports of vehicles on base without a pass or with passes expired for MONTHS went ignored.

We forgot. No wonder everyone else has.

In the Air Force we have not forgotten, or at least those of us who work the flightline have not. Sept 11,2001 is the day that the AF changed for me. Prior to that it seemed to be an 8 hours of work, 1 hour of lunch and it's go home time type of job. Now the work is about %50 harder and the days are longer. We used to consistently see TDY's where we earned an extra $65-75 a day. Now those are hard to come by. Alot has changed in the Air Force since then.

Great set of videos, thanks for sharing them. I didn't see much coverage of the attacks when they happened, and all that actual footage was really interesting.

What still makes me sick is all the conspiracy theories that people like to entertain. How, after seeing those videos, after hearing those people, after seeing the airplane shaped hole in the side of the building, after hearing all those eyewitness accounts, how can people deny that it actually happened, and then have the nerve to blame it on the government? That makes me sick.
