I totally agree. Which is one of the reasons I think nitrous has a bad reputation. Either way, both can be harmful to your engine if used improperly, and if used properly both can be used with little to no engine wear acceleration. This is a good note to end this topic on. smile.gif

Ok, I keep reading "if you build your engine right." A fuel pump out of (for example) Eclipse GS-T, 330cc injectors, and colder spark, 1 step or 2. Is that part of "building engine right?" What else could be done? And whit what I put, how much could I spray (time and hp)?

A fuel pump would be nice, but I don't see a need of 330cc injectors...
1 stage colder plugs for every 50hp you add. Do no spray more than for 15 seconds or so.

75 shot would probably be max for the stock engine.

Your main problem with nitrous will be detonation. Most likely if you go over 90 shot, you will start detonating and will kill your engine. You can also get some device to retard your timing a little. It's going to help.

Changing internals, getting low compression pistons, will make your car not drivable unless you are spraying, it's going to be very very slow. So, if you want more power than nitrous can provide get a turbo smile.gif

If you only bump down compression a little, it wouldn't be terribly slow. A general rule is for every 1:1 compression you add/take off, thats 10whp. Wiseco and other piston makers could make a 9:1 which would still leave your car with plenty of power for the street (A few bolt-ons would give back the power you lost...), and you could probably bump it up another 25-50 on the shot if you run the right spark plugs and retard the timing.

wo wo, this is going to be a daily driver still. i was asking so that if i do "build it up/right" i can be sure not to break anything on a lower shot. my car has 142K, and im not sure if i want to rebuild the engine.

I wouldn't spray into a car that has so many miles.... and by rebuilding the engine you will give your car another 100K mi of life!

Yeah... I wouldn't modify an engine with 142K on it. If you want to run F/I, you buy a car with lower mileage, or rebuild a higher mileage one. 'Nuff said.
