Um, activating it right off the line would NOT be a good idea. If you are in a 5-spd then it usually around 3rd gear around 3000rpms. If it's an auto I would think after it shifts for the first time.

I have a 65 shot on my auto with an MSD window switch set between 3k and 6k rpm. I floor it off the line and it sprays only when the rpm is between the set range. I don't have any problems starting to spray even in first.
Since you have a 5sp, It would be even a better idea to get a window switch. They run around $80.
Hope that helps any.

I guess I should have looked at your profile.
Josh, I've heard people that do that and are only going around 20mph then hit it. So I just say to be on the safe side since he was just starting out to wait until the first shift. I dunno what is actually safe on the auto.

nitrous flow can be used in any gear
traction will be the deciding facter
rpm should above 3000 and never ever ever hit rev limiter on flow
i use a crane cams digital nitrous controller
it has a first gear switch wich limits flow in first
has a start flow a full flow and a stop flow
i can not stress the use of a window switch or controller because i have seen a lot of other nos users hit there rev limiter and kill there
engines and it only takes once to do it
i have used nos for a little over a year now
and compression checks are all still between
210 and 215

fxtreme is right
i can tell you that with a stock clutch and anything between 2500rpm-4000rpm is too early
i have slipped my clutch NASTY... doing this
on first gear
4000-6400
make sure the clutch is FULLY engaged before spraying
be careful
may the force be with you..... always
