Do you have an oxy-acetylene (sp) torch? Find a mechanic that does, ask him to turn it on and then turn off the acetylene and see what happens.

Massive amounts of thick black carbon. Enough that it will actually fall out of the air.

Been there, seen that, old idea.

Umm, your welder turned off the oxygen... Acetylene burns sooty. Oxygen doesn't burn at all, it makes other things burn.

Inject pure oxygen into an engine and the first thing that will happen is you'll burn the head gasket out from between the head and deck.

Quick chemistry lesson.

O2 is an extremely reactive oxidizer. It will react with almost all other elements (excluding noble gases) to form oxides.

so, pure O2 + Iron/Aluminum (head)--->Iron Oxides and Aluminum Oxide + other bunch of reactions that will occur spontaneously.

Point : Do not inject pure O2 in your engine. wink
