even if medical grade would run better, i just can't see myself rolling up to the local distributer and asking them to fill my medical purple bottle wink

Surely there is some restrictions on getting ahold of it.

I am a medical equipment repairer and I would like to make this known.

Medical Grade Nitrous Oxide is pure nitrous oxide. It will be labeled on the bottle if it is anything else. Most setups, even in dentists offices have one tank for Nitrous Oxide and one tank for Oxygen. They are equipped with special nozzles that allow only one type of bottle to connect to the individual hoses. As you turn up the flow on the Nitrous Oxide, the oxygen is automatically raised in flow. I have never seen a premixed setup.

For our purposes, nitrous oxide is nitrous oxide. Automotive grade Nitrous has 100 Parts Per Million sulfur dioxide, allowing you to smell the normally olfactory neutral Nitrous Oxide gas. This is a safety feature. Sulfur Dioxide composes less then 1% and burns in the engine. However, it will make you sick to inhale it.
