hiddint the nitrous

hey im looking for a way to hide my nitrous from anyone who looked under my hood...my mom got really pissed about the direct port setup in my car so im thinking about buying a zex setup so i only have that little box for the silinoids and then making it removeable so i can only put it in when needed,by adding an extra little sleeve right before the thorlttle body then just being able to take that out should work, im really looking for a good place to hide and activation switch, the silinod, and most of all that big *** tank lol

It would be easier/cheaper for you to just convert your setup to a single fogger shot under your intake tube. Then place the solenoids behind the manifold.

BTW - You can give the showerhead, lines and 4 extra nozzles to me for my shark nozzle. tongue.gif wink

yes i realize that would be cheaper but i aslo think i can get 700 still outta my direct port setup get a zes setup and then have 200 left over wink

Being that I can buy a brand new NX 80004EFI direct port kit for $650 (and mine was even cheaper), I'm not sure you can sell yours for $700 used.

In any case...

I too had been wondering about this. My best idea so far is to run all the nozzles through the underside of the intake manifold. Plumb them using the stainless lines covered in either electrical tape or that flexible conduit stuff.

Attach the solenoids upside down (NX tech says it's ok) to the underside of the plenum, and run the feed stainless braided NOS lines (covered with that flexible conduit again) through the firewall right there behind the manifold. The braided steel fuel feed line will have to be covered to be inconspicuous as well...

Someone who really knew what to look for would see it, but someone who's generally uneducated about cars wouldn't know the difference.

tibboy, you could always put the stuff you don't want seen up your *** . just my $.02 random, where can you get that nx kit for $650? i realize that things are expensive straight from the manufacturer (nx wants like $900? on their site), but is that price from a distributor online?

Red 11-05-2002 07:23 AM

I'm the other "R" name...

Hell I lied, you can get them for less than $650 new now...
Here's one for $629

Here's one for $600

I've also seen them on GroupBuy.com for as little as $577 including shipping.

tibboy316 11-05-2002 08:24 AM

i dunno maybe they woudl fit up your *** better but anyways....the point of this is so i dont have to redo the holes in my intake...im also thinking maybe i can just use what i have and rig up a single stage kit...maybe use the shower heads buy a couple little nitrous tanks put them under my back seat hook them up to the heads and then run a single hose to the silinoid from there, dunno if htat would work

Alright... what you could do is buy black hosing and cover the lines with it...

Cover it all up with black hoses

As for the bottle... stick that bastard in the spare tire well....

Remove the jack and spare tire... get a towel and wrap it around the bottle (so it doesnt make a noize) and stick it in there.

You can cover up all the lines with tubing... It could also be an excuse to get some blue tubing and cover your hole engine
:D

tibboy316 11-06-2002 11:16 AM

lol but the second i do that ill get a flat

JAWS 021 11-06-2002 04:41 PM

well thats the only place you can put it without "custom" fees

Red 11-07-2002 12:47 AM

Put the bottle in a large duffel bag, cut the bag bottom appropriately to fit the lines and mounting bracket through.

Drive around 24/7 with what appears to be a leather duffel bag in the trunk at all times. :D

skierd 11-07-2002 04:35 AM

"Put that canned shizzit away, i'll open my duffel bag of whoopass on your punk self!" tongue.gif

JAWS 021 11-07-2002 04:41 AM

problem with that.... it wont fool cops...

If you dont have a problem with them... then its a dam good idea

TiburonGuy99 11-07-2002 05:07 AM

u can put in back side where is kinda goes in and put a box around it and put matching carpet around it and put a latch on it then say its the "stock" sub woofer with amp.

JAWS 021 11-07-2002 07:27 AM

that looks like a pain...

You could also always buy a sub box and stick it in there

BigBoi 11-07-2002 11:33 AM

One quick question off topic.. dont shoot me random... what will a cop do if you have nitrous?

Peace

TiburonGuy99 11-07-2002 11:52 AM

you say "its for when i got off roading in my fwd car" :D i dunno thats what its for depends on the cop more then likey instead of giving u warning he will right you the ticket.

hawaiibullrider 11-07-2002 12:07 PM

People People, most states axcept maybe Cali, you can get aay and it is legal to have nitrous in the car, just dont get cought with the bottle open. Now this is why if you worried about street legality you get a remote bottle opener. For the cali folks I believe nitrous in the car period is illegal. Now for the hidden nitrous crap, the speaker box idea is cool, butyou can also put a wall up behind the rear seat enough to were the bottle is between the rear seat and the wall, make the wall contour the entire trunk to make it look like you don't have split rear seats. And carpet it. As far as the solonoids in the trunk go, you can put them under the battery tray upside down or right side up. It don't matter if its and NX solonoid. As far as other kits I have no idea. I know this for sure because my purge solonoid is actually upside down and one of the install in one of the import magazines they also mounted the nitrous solonoid sideways and the fuel solonoid upside down. as for the line, I would cover it in either black conduit as red stated or cover it in a rubber vacuum hose. the nozzle attached to the intake you can make look like a temp sensor by covering that with a rubber hose and top it off with a metal fitting. The only ones who would know would be any hyundai owner. Anyone else won't think twice that you are spraying. Also the main feed line from the bottle, you run up underneath the side skirt. Taking the skirt off or at least unbolting it from the body where you need to run it is a good idea so it is completely covered.

What I have told you here has worked on several honda dealerships for warrenty repair, the only thing the guy removed was the nitrous and fuel lines from the solonoids to the intake. Every thing else including the solonoids stayed put and work was done on some bad valves without any question from the dealership about the nitrous.

JAWS 021 11-08-2002 02:56 AM

You can have nitrous here... but if its hooked up... your dead

Josh 11-08-2002 03:26 AM

Also in GA, plans were made to ban nitrous kits on public roads. They backed off a little and allowed for the kits to be in the cars as long as if the feed line was detached from the bottle.

-I always forget to take it off frown
