Default Frozen line and solenoid

I used the nitrous 4 times in very quick succession(all 4 happened within one journey, once the engine was up to temp, and within about 4 minutes) then went to get some fuel and heard a hissing noise. I open the bonnet to find my nitrous line from the solenoid to the fogger frosted up so I turned of the bottle and still it's hissing, I figure the line is just emptying. The system is dis-armed and ignition is off. A quick tap on the top of the solenoid with the ring end of a spanner stopped the hissing and the line started defrosting.
What I'm curious about is should I leave it longer between using the shots or is my solenoid buggered and need replacing already?? The kit is a NOS wet shot and is barely a month old.

Electromechanical parts are easy to troubleshoot. In this case, it sounds like the plunger is sticking in the solenoid. This can happen from a variety of causes. Since the plunger is new, it probably just needs to be "worked out".

What you can do is turn the car to the on position, do not start it, and the nitrous supply should be turned off. then repeatedly activate/deactivate your nitrous switch. do this about 10-20 times. It will ensure that the solenoid seats properly and wears into the sides of the wall regularly.

If that does not work, since it is new, take it back and get another new one. If that is not possible, then you can tear it apart and re-lubricate it with some low-temp cryogenic lube. http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&q...sa=N&tab=wf

It's probably a better idea to work it out and if that does not work, just replace it.

Thank you very much, I'll have a crack at the "working it" in the morning. It'd make sense, in the same way as running in an engine.
