Ive been speaking to Kevin about getting sway-bars made please vote and post your input on bar sizing I think a bar from 20-24mm will be real good for stiffening up the rear.

Thanks smile.gif

Caj Darkmoon 06-08-2007 08:55 AM

Voted yes, but honestly depends entirely on the price.

mr_jeckel 06-08-2007 08:58 AM

Agreed. I was gonna invest in just the rear sway bars. I don't feel a need to change the front sway bar. But at a good price, I'd consider doing both. H&R does 20mm in the rear and 26mm in the front. I would prefer staying close to these numbers, or possibly an adjustable bar.

REDZMAN 06-08-2007 11:44 AM

I would, but there are a TON of different ones out there for us, ranging in sizes from what, 18MM to 26MM?

H&R
Eibach
Whiteline

I know there are others too, so the price would definately have to be competitive.

gsasha1 06-08-2007 11:57 AM

^^ ditto

KevinBrz 06-08-2007 01:45 PM

Hey,

If I had to take a guess right now on pricing, I would say around $110 or so, with free shipping of course! I'm also curious on other suspension products you guys might be interested in. Strut bars, control arms, some delrin replacement bushings? Let me know.

Thanks,

Kevin

realkdm99 06-08-2007 02:22 PM

strut bars and bushings would be real nice

Loneshark 06-08-2007 02:36 PM

oh yea, a complete poly urethane bushing set, for under 150 smackers, and sway bars would be dandy.

Hmm, for that kind of pricing, I'd get a set and try them out for sure. I want some BEEFY bars, as driving fast in turns = turn on.

Other suspension parts we are interested in?

1. Strut bar that connects to the firewall with built in engine damper. Like this.
http://www.powerbest.co.kr/shop/shopdetail...&sort=order
Or better.

2. I would personally REALLY like a bar for across the hatch in the rear, something that connects to the rear seatbelt points, or something else back there. We can get you a car to look at.

3. What other bushings are you talking about doing?

4. Control arms, fo sho.

RedShark_TiBuRoN 06-08-2007 04:17 PM

Yeah, if you're gonna get sway bars, get H&R. I've cornered fast on the Arkansas Pig Trail and the whole car was just brilliant through the corners. But i'm sure KJB can make some good ones, too.

Vladimer 06-08-2007 04:20 PM

i've always planned to replace my sway bars, and at that price if you can make them nice and beefy im definitly gona find the funds for it

edit: spelling mistake

1997tibby 06-08-2007 07:24 PM

how about some control arms that we can mount the traction bars too!!!!! i know there 2 different companys but.....KJB is good!!!

SOCKS_old 06-08-2007 10:20 PM

for 110$ shipped or around there for a sway bar.. hell yeah.. <<VERY INTERESTED

an air ram compatible strut bar (FINALLY) would be very nice and connecting to the firewall. << SUPER INTERESTED

control arms would be pretty cool, i may buy some if i ever have extra $$$. <MILDLY INTERESTED.

gsasha1 06-09-2007 01:00 AM

YES YES YES:
A bar that will connect the rear seatbelt bolts (above the seats) and the trunk, to give strengh to put rear that is lacking due to the hatch!!

PS. I know that the pict are from a Honda...

and a bar to connect between the front seat belt mounts, like the one that sparco has for use with 4point belts:
Designed to be used WITH rear seats... meaning, close to the front seats.

SplinterCeL 06-09-2007 07:45 AM

I'm very interested in the sway bars, strut bars, and well... Pretty much what redz listed I'd get smile.gif. Sign me up!

REDZMAN 06-09-2007 08:26 AM

That bar setup that gsasha1 posted would drive me insane, can you make it?

Ericy321 06-09-2007 09:26 AM

you mean the first one? i never thought of something like that in the tib. funny thing is my dad made one just like that for my brothers mr2. hmmm

Caj Darkmoon 06-09-2007 09:45 AM

I would -love- a bar between the rear seatbelt mounts. My problem is anything that will interfere with my 2x12" sub box in the back...

cheesebox 06-09-2007 10:14 AM

well there ya go Kevin haha.gif when should I come by smile.gif

Ericy321 06-09-2007 10:16 AM

if youre going to even consider doing all that why not just do a full cage?

LNHeart 06-09-2007 03:52 PM

Heck yeah, i would be very interested in te sway bars for that price and also for some strut bars like the ones that gsasha1 posted also, they look sweet!!

yamaha 06-09-2007 04:01 PM

New front and rear swaybars would be great!

KevinBrz 06-11-2007 12:11 AM

Hey Everyone,

Well, it seems like everyone is interested in seeing some sway bars from us. So, in about a week we are going to do some R&D and hopefully be able to offer some very soon. The strut bars and rear pillar bars could be in the future plans.

Thanks for the feedback,

Kevin
KJB Motorsports

REDZMAN 06-11-2007 04:46 PM

Do you have access to a RD up there?

KevinBrz 06-11-2007 07:57 PM

Hey,

We are working with a local customer on some fitment of new parts.

Thanks,

Kevin
KJB Motorsports

BlackTibby00 06-21-2007 07:58 AM

I would for sure be interested in a set of sway bars.

2uniq 06-29-2007 09:28 AM

Strut bars made to fit with the AIRRAM would be my first choice and will defently purchase.
If the bar can also come with an adjustable bracket to support the master cylinder would be a bonus as well
Let us no Kevin
Thanks! smile.gif

cheesebox 08-25-2007 05:02 PM

any update on this?

KevinBrz 08-27-2007 07:07 PM

Hey,

We are going to be going through some test fitting on Wednesday, as well as some driving tests for the next few days to make sure everything works well. I figured I'd give you guys a quick crappy picture of the prototype sway bar.

http://www.kjbmotorsports.com/proto.jpg

This is a full tubular sway bar, not a solid one like almost all sway bars are. This allows the bar to be significantly stronger and also lighter. I'll have more reports in the following days so stay tuned.

Thanks,

Kevin
KJB Motorsports

cheesebox 09-12-2007 12:54 PM

UPDATE!!!!!!!! we want UPDATE! hah I really cant wait guy's please tell me these are in production

'treezy 09-13-2007 01:12 AM

ew, that pic looks horrible. I would like to see what you can come up with Kevin. I have been wanting BEEFY (like C battery thickness...) f and r anti-sway bar for a while now.

How R&D thus far?
Will they be coated?
adjustable? if not, that's cool I'll take super beefy and less driveability over adjustability. I just don't want a cracked rear sub frame...
w/ or without bushings (urethane)?

01steve 09-13-2007 03:42 PM

it's a tube? how strong is that? how thick is the sidewall?

i'm all for light weight, but i'm curious as to how well these bars will work and the long term effects on the bars themselves. i'm not neccassarily doubting you, but if you can stand by this product years from now (w/ it still being a noticeable imporvement over stock) then-... hats off to you!

let us know how it's going! thanks!

'treezy 09-13-2007 11:01 PM

It's a known fact that tubular anti-sway bars and more beneficial due to their light weight compared to the loss in stiffness/strength when compared to a solid bar (like 5% stiffness loss, 100% weight increase).

01steve 09-14-2007 05:00 PM

just read up on tubular sway bars-...

GIMME GIMME! yeah as broke as i am right now i could fork out $ for this!

keep us informed!

KevinBrz 09-16-2007 07:40 AM

Hey guys,

We are running into a few hiccups that have delayed the release of this. Waiting for parts to come in and fixing some fitment issues has all contributed. As of now the planned setup of this bar is a full powdercoated non-adjustable sway bar that is 22mm in size but will perform like a 24mm bar. The powdercoat will either be red or gunmetal (leaning toward red). They will come with poly bushings and zinc coated brackets from Energy Suspension.

Hopefully, if everything goes as planned, they will be available for purchase in two weeks. I will give you guys an update in a week on how things are going.

Thanks,

Kevin
KJB Motorsports

REDZMAN 09-16-2007 09:30 AM

Gunmetal or black would be WAY better, with the amount of the folks here that do so much work on their cars, throwing RED into the mix would for sure get plenty NOT to buy.

Hell, I wouldn't.

Gunmetal will match anything.

SOCKS_old 09-16-2007 09:32 AM

lol, come on, you can barely even see a sway bar, a strut bar would be a different thing though.. plus red will pretty much stick out on any car so itll be like (hey, im an upgraded sway bar) lol.

REDZMAN 09-16-2007 09:44 AM

One piece of red on a car that has no red on it whtsoever, no thanks. I go to too many car shows for that.

Color Matching or Complimenting parts > Mismatched Parts, any day of the week.

Parts Listing for car show display? PRICELESS.

KevinBrz 09-16-2007 04:13 PM

Hey,

You made a good point there, I never thought of that. I guess we'll be going with the gunmetal after all, lol.

Thanks,

Kevin
KJB Motorsports

LNHeart 09-16-2007 04:26 PM

IMHO, i would also go with Gunmetal. As Redzman said Gunmetal would go with any other color and nobody really need to know if you upgraded anything really and i bet nobody (only the interested) would be looking over and under your car to see if you upgraded anything.

So yeah, i would go for gunmetal also. Hope to see these comming out really soon.
