I gotta say Jer, props on the interior! Its really starting to come together.

I've always loved the tan leather interior on the 2006 Tibby's I believe. Any chance they can get that color????

Yup. I've got the sample rings of their fabrics here, if you want I can take pics of what is there. I'll probably link to the site so you can see more.

BTW folks, I just drove with these in for the first time, my GOD what a difference. NO SLIDING IN MY SEAT!!! Woohoo! CF Vinyl = skid proof for your ass!

Also, you CAN get these elsewhere, but you'll pay $1500 or so for them. I went to the local authorized dealer in my area and they wanted $1800. I asked for a discount for being a Veteran, and they said $1500.

Our stock seats have bolsters. If yours aren't holding you in place, you might want to take your skins off and look, mine had some heavy foam damage, i fixed it, and now they hold me in place again.

As for price, $500 to $600 will get you a pair of really cheap quality seats. Then you have to find brackets, or since only 2 or 3 companies make those brackets for us (of which all are like 500 bucks PER seat, plus 100 or so per bracket), fab up your own brackets.

Lastly on that subject, if you are still leaning towards aftermarket seats and have never sat in any, DO NOT BUY SEATS WITHOUT HAVING SAT IN THEM FIRST!!! Many seats out there will not fit your hips if you have above a 32 inch waist. Some have "Wide" model seats, that cost about 100 to 250 more per seat.

This is one of the reasons I went looking, the stock seats fit, require no modification or extra parts. I sat in dozens of aftermarket seats at dozens of car shows, both installed and at the MFR displays. Only ever found 2 that fit comfortably, and of those only ONE allowed the seat to recline back or front to get out quick. Both were over $800 PER seat, and brackets were $95 (SHow price!).

Good luck.

BTW, for anyone else with the same ideas, here's an example of a seat I wanted and the costs associated. You can quote any cheap off brand seat you want, but ask anyone that's been around this scene for some time, cheap seats = bad seats.

Corbeau CR1
http://www.corbeau.com/products/reclining_seats/cr1

Pricing (per seat)
Cloth: $399.00
Cloth Wide: $449.00
Suede: $455.00
Suede Wide: $499.00
Black Leather: $625.00

That's ONE seat, and that's the standard width.

Custom Color Seat
(Any color not shown above)
Cloth or Vinyl: $648.00
Cloth or Vinyl Wide: $698.00
Suede: $798.00
Suede Wide: $848.00
Leather $844.00
Leather Wide: $894.00

That's for colors.

So, let's take a comparison shall we? Since my new ones are leather let's pick the leather ones. We'll go with the regular width.

$844 X 2 = $1688

Now, for brackets.

http://www.corbeau.com/service/bracket_guide/

For the RD, they are the F series, $198 for the set.

So that's a total of $1886, plus shipping.

Oh, and you still don't have the rears done.

LOL

Say you want the bare minimum?

Cloth = $399 per seat. That's $798 for 2 seats. Plus brackets, that's $996, plus shipping.

Oh, and you get almost no options too.

Another make?

http://www.sparcousa.com/seats_street.asp

Ranging from $289 each, which is a really ugly and thin seat (hope you don't drive much if you get those) to $1600 each. The mid level to compare to the C1's are about $599.

And they don't offer brackets for us.

Recaros?

http://www.andysautosport.com/hyundai/2000...g_seats/recaro/

$699 to $2600 each. No mention of brackets.

So, that's an example of what you want to look at when you are looking for seats. I've been looking since 2002, and stayed stock. Though they look nothing like stock anymore.

I figure thta's enough talking about aftermarket seats in this thread, please make another or search for more information on your own. Prices haven't been finalized yet, but if you aren't interested, don't post. Go get some quotes locally (beware, lots of cheap shops will just glue your new skins to the foam), and come back.

Have you tried Corbeau's "wide" seats? They fit me and my 36" waist. Personally, I'd prefer cloth since we're buying aftermarket seats for holding you in, not for looks. For looks, I agree covers are better. I also prefer stock colors since they're easier to repair/match fabric/replace if one becomes damaged. So, that's $449 x 2 + $198 = $1096.

Yes, I have, I have a 42 inch waist.

Please folks, read the thread, no more posting about other seats in here please. Post about them elsewhere, they are known and I just made a HUGE post about them.

There ARE stock colors, I wanted something a bit more flashy for the car shows I go into and for personal preference, I could have gone more flashy, but this was enough. As for "holding you in", as I posted above, my CF centers act like grip tape, I'm not going ANYWHERE anymore.
