San Antonio, Texas....

I do have a question for you RD guys

I have a friend with an 01 tib, auto and he is having problems with his car as of right now. i went and looked at it and found out it was his starter (it was making a horrible grinding sound for a while). Told him to replace the starter which he did, but now its still grinding. I told him to check the flywheel when he replaced the starter to see if the flywheel still had teeth. He said he did, but I don't know. I have yet another friend with a turbo RD that goes by JonGTR on my forum (NT) and he said he had a Fidanza flywheel...but its for a manual and my other friend has an auto. I guess my question is: The flywheels are not enterchangeable (?) now are they?

I told you they wouldn't. The autos have flexplates, not flywheels.

He should do a manual swap though. There's a write-up on it around here and isn't to difficult, especially since you'll have the tranny off anyways. The parts are all at pick n pull cheap.

How much do you think it will be at a pick-n-pull?

i would guess around 600-700$ depending on how cheap your pick n pull is and how many miles are on it.

Ummmm no, not that expensive. Last I checked, the trannies were $80. Then you need the shifter, cables, axles, and other misc stuff that could be another $150-200. So about half that.
