A few months ago I brought this 97 Tiburon from a friend of mine at work. She hit a deer with it and messed up her windshield, front bumper, radiator support, passenger head light, and radiator. The automatic tranny was half dead and the passenger front caliper is locked up. I still have a bit of cosmetics to work out on the car as well as a few mechanical issues to work out. If anyone here has any advice, site, or what ever please let me know I am very willing to listen. I will also answer any questions you may have about the car. smile.gif

how much did you buy it for? because sometimes if you don't do the work yourself it's going to cost you some trouble, otherwise i'll believe that the engine is in good condition. i also have a 1997 tiburon, am having the tranny swapped out to 5sp at 130k miles. engine can go up to 200k or more but anything after that is sorta pushing it.

it's a great buy if you ask me, you get a lot for the money. you can try getting some aftermarket hood and f2 evo bumper from blacktibs/flyryde but he's been high strung and business has not been flowing accordingly so some members have been waiting and waiting for some parts to be made. if you're not up for any aftermarket, i'd just have the bodywork fixed and the transmission checked out. what's the check engine code for the transmission?

advice? Don't replace with OEM, go aftermarket and it may even be cheaper.

Are you planning on getting another automatic or swapping it to a 5spd? I just completed my 5spd swap last weekend. A few other member are in the process and there is a Do It Yourself posted with instructions in the DIY Forum

How did you find our site?
