Hey All,

I used to own a 99 TRD Toyota Solara SLE V6. Sold it a year ago and just purchased a 98 5 Speed Tiburon. I got it for a steal and am looking to add an intake and an exhaust right away.

Im gonna go with an AEM intake but have NO idea which exhaust to go with:

I hear the APEXI is good but cant find any information on it. What about the HKS?

Any others with PROVEN gains??

Thanks for the help

Welcome. Good choice with the AEM. The Apexi one is very hard to find and the HKS system is only the rear muffler piece. If you look at ImportShark.com they just got the Motoria catbacks back in stock. Quite a few people around here have them and like them.

Thank you for the kinds words of encouragement and welcome!

I was hoping to find Tibby owners who wouldnt mind sharing their gains, pictures and personal opinions on the exhausts?

Anyone care to help a new Tiburon owner?

Thanks in advance.

Like Dmitry said, look around a bit, there's plenty of pics of people's car info on adding performance parts.

Hey man, welcome to the site. Good choices on the I/E. AEM you can find on ebay for cheap, just make sure it is infact the AEM and not a knock off.

Here is a link to the Apexi Exhaust pictures andsound files. Unfortunately I think they are out of stock. But you can pm 2race4real (Rick at Real Engineering) to see for sure.

I have both the AEM cai and the motoria catback
The AEM is going to give you very nice gains in both hp and sound
The catback is louder down low but under WOT in hi pms the sound is almost as the same as just the cai but a little louder
the catback didn't give me as much hp as the intake, probally need the headers to get the full potential out of the exhaust

Well, that sounds encouraging.

Let me ask this:

In terms of gains, which mods have been known to yield the most, without hurting the car in any way. I ask because Im hoping to come by some money soon, and when that happens, I will invest in the car.

So far I know that the AEM and the Apexi Catback are what I'd like to have ideally.

What about the Airram Top Intake Manifold?

Thanks
