Talking StrikeEagle is back

Hey guys,
This is StrikeEagle coming back again after over a year 'vacation'. For those of you who knew me from the RDTiburon days - greetings again! Quite a surprise to see RDT forward to here - that threw me off for a bit... For those of you who don't - I was a pretty active member here (RDT) for a couple years, I think even getting in the top 50 posters or something. Did a number of mods, sold a number of vent halos, and overall really enjoyed modding and driving my Tiburon.
So here's what's happened (mostly) since then.
Last August, I graduated from college with an engineering degree, got married a week later, and, since nobody else was hiring, went and worked at an egg farm in NC. Worked there for 8 months (the Tiburon took a bit of a beating - lived on a dirt road for 3 months, and worked the whole time down a mile long dirt road), and finally got a job back in Alabama working as a civilian for the Army. I've been here since April, and still have and love, mostly, my Tiburon.
I don't have any of my pictures of it up at the moment (they're still probably on photobucket, but I can't access it right now) and I don't even have my mod list in front of me. But anyhow, mine is one of the few in the world that has a 'functional' Subaru STI hood scoop. I've done a lot of work on the interior - sound deadening, keyless entry (non-functionoal AtM), custom vent halos, under seat/dash lighting, gauge cluster, controls, and switches all converted to blue LEDs, headlight halos, custom switch panel in the console, etc. Engine mods are P&P intake, BBTB, phenolics, intake, strut bar, etc. Once I scrounge up my mods list, I'll post them up, along with some pictures.

Anyhow, since I got married, modding pretty much completely stopped, partly because of a relatively heavy work schedule --manual labor is hard!!! -- but mainly because we're now paying every penny towards student loans, and I can't spend much of anything on mods anymore. I've also had a bunch of rather large repair bills for various things going wrong on both our cars (my wife has a 99 elantra wagon), totaling close now to $3k in the last year, so I don't feel like putting any more money into it.

I have gotten a lot more into photography (some of you probably remember some of the pictures I had taken of my car, which I'll post later on), and am trying to get the business going a lot more. We have a website now - www.covenantphoto.com, check it out! If anyone is getting married, or knows someone getting married, I'd be interested! Ok, shameless self-advertisement over. thumbup.gif
But any 'mods' now are going towards the business, rather than the Tiburon. It's more of an invesment there rather than just spending money on what essentially turns out to be a toy.
So unfortunately, that's about the extent of my modding days. I'll still probably poke around here a bit, as time permits, but nothing like what I used to do. It's interesting to see how things have changed - like what happened to RedZ??? And I'm glad to see, albeit in a funny sort of a way, that DTN is a mod now, rather than being banned.

Again, greetings, both past and present, to you all!

BTW.. On RDTiburon I got a bunch of warnings for mentioning ChromeIntakes CAIs from REDZMAN. Now he is running a group buy on ChromeIntakes CAIs for the Soul on SoulHamsters.com.

DTN, so good to see you again bud smile.gif

Faith, I had seen you around a little bit, but it seems you were more on a respite yourself also, if I remember right. I was actually a little surprised to see you posting here. I want to say you were more of a legend on RDT when I was on, rather than an active poster. But I do remember you!

So what's up with REDZ? Is he into Tiburons at all anymore, or is he now going for the Soul? And on what forum? Funny that he's now doing the Chrome Intakes, I remember that big fiasco. LOL

i left RDT(some of you may remember why) and pretty much the entire hyundai scene for about 3 years. when the wife got offered a job in another state, i had to decide to either part out my project j2(and believe me....its very project looking alright...) or build it and bring it up here.

i chose to build it up again and was welcomed here with open arms to gain info on sh*t ive forgotten (josh is/has always been a awesome guy, pat yourself on the back lol) this place lets me get away with crap so here i am. its MUCH more laid back than RDT ever was and if i could only convince them to get rid of the sware filter, it would be perfect lol.

i have WAY to many memories with it to part it and scrap the body so i decided to put it back together again. i was able to drive it about 20 miles before the transmission blew up the DAY before i was supposed to move. loaded it up on a trailer and brought it up here.

at least i was able to hear the turbo spool devildance.gif devildance.gif devildance.gif shift.gif damn thing sounded like a diesel!!

Welcome back man, nice to see you here. We felt it was better to merge the two communities due to the dwindling of 96-01 Tiburon owners and the vast amount of knowledge that we could combine into one place. The RDT forums are included here for reference still, nothing lost, so you should be able to find some of your old posts around here.

Glad to have you back. Your photos were always unbelievable, so please post 'em up! Glad life's going good for you and congrats on the marriage.
