And i thought he closed the topic on the short shifters.</div>

Because a heavy shift knob will follow through better on a shift. Light shift knobs do not follow through. A light one will allow for more slop and binding at the synchro portion of the shift. A heavy one will continue through using it's weight. It's not noticable to you, but at the end of the shift lever it makes a difference.

That was an announcement of the best shifter contest thread he closed.

BTW... AEM is the ONLY way to go for a CAI. The Injen and other models suck. AEM is the best.

Yep, I'm going to pitch out my off brand otto racing cai for a brand new AEM one soon. Same with my off-brand otto racing muffler. That's going to be switched out to a Motoria catback.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (jgrove111 @ May 22 2006, 09:40 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Things I'm looking to do are:

1) Find a way to reduce wheel hop! (Only pet peeve)
2) Go from stock tires and rims to 16' with chrome
3) Find a shortshifter kit.
4) Get clear corners and euro style taillights.
5) Place some strut bars in
6) Get a cold air induction system (not sure which make)
Next summer, I want a repaint the car black again, and figure that'll be the time to try a body kit. As for horsepower gains, I don't need too many tickets like when I was a teen, but I'll keep my mind open.</div>
1. FEATHER your clutch, don't drop it lmao.gif
2. Unless you're going for all show, DO NOT get chrome. Most people think that the extra 10-15 lbs isn't that big of a deal and it isn't, BUT you have to remember that the wheels are spinning so an extra 10-15 lbs revolving at X RPM ACTUALLY adds a LOT more weight and really does slow you down. If you're like me and want that chrome look, go for some lightweight aluminum rims which have a polished mirror finish. They look really nice.
3. Wait for REDZMAN to do the "short shifter showdown"
4. Clear corners are hot, but if you're going to get the clear tails please do not get CF or chrome. Black is the ONLY way to go, the others are just fugly on black cars.
5. Keep in mind that if you ever plan on getting an AIRRAM intake manifold there is currently no front strut bar that works for it, FlyRyde is producing one but who knows how long it will take. If you don't plan on ever getting a new intake manifold, then don't worry about it.
6. AEM is the ONLY way to go. I'm not even going to discuss other ones for our cars (you can search if you're that interested), AEM hands down. Period.

Hey, you're warranty only goes for another 5,000 miles, I'd get that timing belt replaced while it's still free. fing02.gif

Welcome!

Lol, good idea on the timing belt....read my mind. As for AEM I'm sold, two people suggested it in this topic alone. Thats why I joined, people with informed opinions might keep me outta trouble. Liking the header talk I've read in other sections too.
