Hello,
I just recently purchased a 2001 Tiburon with just a little over 36,000 miles on it three weeks ago. The kid that owned it owned it since it was brand new (his daddy bought it for him) and he worked in his shop. Well, the kid went a different route and bought a Civic because he could get a bigger array of parts to choose from.
I've been lurking in here late at night for the past week since I work nightshift and absolutely love the things you guys have done for this car and the amounts of times people are told to search instead of just asking a question over and over again, a big pet peeve of mine. I know several people in here are going to be getting quite a bit of my income with all the services that are offered from members on this site.
A little about me if you really want to know. I currently live near Manhattan, Ks. in a little town called Wamego. I am 34 and the assistant night shift forman in the Welding department at Dymax inc. www.u-blades.com . I have been a welder in one way or another for 20 years, starting in my dad's shop and working in many aspects of welding and fabrication since then. Not to brag or anything but if it can be dreamed up and put into a print or even a idea given to me, it can be made out of metal, simple as that.
As soon as I get this car tagged several of you guys will be getting pm's about the services bring offered here, specially DTN when you get some time off from school man.
One thing I would like to know if this is a place I can download a owner's manual for this car, didn't come with one.
thanks in advance,
Lee Dunlap

hey Lee, welcome to rdtiburon. you've stumbled into the biggest unified RD generation tiburon site in the U.S.and we do get a lot of members from outside. Even without that array of parts available, our parts are the best from Korea and we also use a lot of universal aftermarket. Everything basic we have like the hondas. Bodykits and replacements are a lot nicer such as the F2 Rally bumper most people don't know about but there are less of them.
The guy you bought the tiburon from probably didn't feel like researching and bugging people for parts overtime. we do have stores from Korea (Kspec.com and SFR (KDMstuff.com)) with lots of things and are ever expanding. There are a ton of members here with Tiburons that look hot and drive fast. from stock to 615 horsepower turbocharged you name it. Again, there are few but when they are they are better than anything else.
Take a look around the stores, we'll give as much advice you need. I'm no technician but we do have inclined members who will help out at any cost. This is a wonderful, organized, informative and peaceful site by all means and we stand by Search because there is some great information from mechanics on here that no longer reside, or just because it's like a compiled dictionary of info.
The other big hyundai coupe monster website is UKCS from the United Kingdom (www.hyundaicoupe.info).
looking forward to seeing some of your work come across. there's definitely room for it.

<--- HaHaHa...one hit wonder, that's funny. The only things I have started right now is a new battery tray since the one installed right now looks to have had a battery leak on it. the other thing of course since its metal is some diamond plate floor mats but I might use stainless with a rolled lip to help in holding say, a spilled 20 oz. dew. since my car is silver the SS will look great and not to mention the fact we have it literally lying around the shop in scrap heaps that I can have my way with fing02.gif .

Flogging? Man, this site is just for people like you!! Glad you finally decided to join, and fortunately you seemed to have learned a lot about this site already. Apparently one thing you missed - post pics!!! cool.gif
A full user's manual is available online, check out this thread of how to get in it: Webtech
I really hope you'll be able to put your welding/metal skilz to use here, I know there's a bunch of projects people would love to see happen (not the least of which is an airram!!). It's great to have people of all these specialties available, it really opens the possibilities.
Welcome, I look forward to seeing you here often!
BTW, how are we supposed to pronounce your username?

well on another forum when we get something new it is termed "MAN LAW" to show pics of something new we are proud of. I'm hooking myself up with a image account tonight so i can do that.
it's not that hard to make anything out of metal as long as you have one thing: TOOLS!!
now the Airram deal is a problem basically because I don't have a TIG at my exposure, basically mig is what we use on the stainless liners for the buckets.
the way you pronounce my name is :you are so envious, think of it as a personalized license plate.

Welcome to the site. I'm quite drunk right now, so I'll let you know, Kansass sucks ASS. LOL I was stationed at FT Riley for 7.5 years, and the only good thing about it is...
A. I'm no longer there.
B. I met my wife there.
C. I managed to go to Korea from there, and I LOVE Korea.
LOL
make it down to the ABQ BBQ this year.

"MAN LAW" has been upheld. There is a few things I will be changing in the next few months. the first two things are the "shopping cart" wing and the very badly fitted Vader front end. I might like it better if it didn't ride 2.5" off the ground. I can barely get in the parking lot where i work, have to take a severe angle to rise above the concrete.
Aye, REDZ, you know the hell here quite well then, but it is getting better. Over by the Manhattan mall where they used to store hay bales they built a Best Buy,lol. We are getting all sorts of "high tech" here in Kansas.
I would like to know where i can find a pic of a zefiro front end. I searched, no luck on where to even get one.
I am really suprised this kid wanted to get rid of this car and it was worth the one week of busting my tail getting the loan on lack of sleep.
cheesebox, if you can draw a straight line with a pen, you can weld with any media. TIG is sometimes a little harder if the person trying, tries to work without a rythum. best thing to learn first is by fusing corner to corner plates with 12 or 14 ga. thickness steel, to learn how to get your dimes to stack. after that, add your filler rod along with your hand motion, simple as that.
