I think the Toyota-Hyundai hostility sprouted from the fact that the Rd2 (second generation tiburon) owners got tired of people calling their cars Celica's (the ones with the four lights, "bug eyes"). Or maybe it was the other way around, eithe way they both look like spiders or tarantulas or something, too many "eyes" for my taste.

Good choice in cars your family has, I think your dad can shut you all up so there..

I hate how everyone thinks GK Tiburons are so fast...there's this kid in my town who just got a new black one and thinks its hot shit, i can't wait to go to a track with home someday and smoke him..lol.

BTW Pat, I think anyone who confuses that gen celica with an RD2 is a moron, the 94-97 (i think) celicas headlights are so much bigger and the overall car is a lot different.

Before I got my tib actually the other car I was looking at was an 00 celica, I didn't have the money of course (since this was almost 4 years ago) but I've always loved them. I'm sort of glad I didn't get one now though because in the past year I've been starting to see them as much as I see civics..lol.

Also if you're used to a 6 speed celica and you jump in an auto tib of course it's gonna be slow haha, stock auto tiburon is slooow. Teach her to drive a stick and swap the tranny for her fing02.gif

It's an auto?

No wonder it's slow.

Get her some lightweight rims, a new spoiler, do a tranny swap, she'll be talking about it ALOT.

Trust me.

You show her this community my man, and let her meet some of the other women tuners here, let her see what can become of her car witha bit of effort, she'll be all over it.

you can get a tranny swapped for under $1k man...hyundai trannies are so fvckin cheap.
there was a guy on here selling EVERYTHING needed to do an auto-manual swap for like $700 SHIPPED.

then you find a garage and a weekend and you can read the DIY article on how to do it.
