Default new here, but not a newb

hey ya'll. i've got a 97 tiburon. it has 95k on the clock. i've been over on rdtiburon.com for a while now and just looking to expand my knowledge base. i've had my tiburon for a little over 3 years now. i just replaced my clutch and did a beta2 tranny swap while i was at it. i'm very pleased with the new transmission. it is much smoother. i am getting ready to put my airram/bbtb on in the next week or two also.

Im surprised at how many people go with the Beta2 tib transmission and not an Elantra one. I've been told it has slightly longer gears, so you can go a little more before redlining. But not entirely sure.

Anyway, welcome.gif to the site. Enjoy your stay! smile.gif

as far as i know, the beta2 is the same in both the tib and the elantra. i'm pretty sure mine came out of an elantra though. i really like the beta2 a lot better, it's MUCH smoother than the beta1.

The transmission is the externally the same but the gear ratios are different.
