Default My first gen

I am 100% Polish, from very famous relatives. It's a beautiful country minus the politics. For 60 years we have been stepped on. I'm from Washington D.C. and Miami Beach. I have been with Hyundai since 1987. This Tiburon thing began when my dentist (who is 87 years old still drives his Tiburon) showed up in his white 1996 Tiburon. Let's say it made a lasting impression on me.

I have been a World Rally Car fan since 1990. Little did I know my favorite sport in the world (taking 300hp flame spitting monsters versing nature's toughest environments mixed in with global cultures and beautiful sceneries) was going to collide with my favorite car in the world. Not a lot of car enthusiasts are this lucky:

They're also not lucky enough to say that their car competed in the glory days of the WRC, Colin McRae, Tommi Makinen, Carlos Sainz just to name a few. I think this car had the most beautiful perfect paint job This is what fuels my fire.

In 1991, Hyundai introduced a new era of car design. Enter HCD1, the car that would bring muscle, sleek, aggression, comfort, design, innovation, beauty, affordability, and last but not least love in the passenger seat. This spilled over to the HCD 1, 2, and 3 series combined to form Tiburon. Enter me, who is all about those words I just mentioned! I love RD1's for this very reason.

I used to be a moderator at rdtiburon. they don't like to argue. even with my ridiculous claims that the Koreans took a perfectly good Pininfarina-like RD1 and turned it into the spider-eyed post-F&F banana-peeled wheeled RD2 and 7/10's of that site are RD2 haha. My bad.

*lol* Nice! I like your car, and its all good about your opinions on RD2's. They seem to be the red headed step child in the Tiburon community, but its cool. I still love mine! tongue.gif Glad to have ya over here!

Were you ever on FxTreme, or T-H-C?

^Fintile, i was thinking about it earlier, but i hoped to get new photos with my new Canon powershot. i ended up spending the money on having my Magnaflow muffler welded back on. but funny isn't it?!

haha yep i pissed a lot of people off with my dissatisfactions. I'm truly sorry about that. My love/hate story is similar to what our fellow Impreza guys are dealing with right now. you cannot compare a 2008 WRX STi to a 2009 WRX STi. it's obscene that they turned an iconic 4-door McRae legend into a 5 door Soccermomvan all in the name of reaching out to a new audience and frankly to me that is called marketing, not passion.

they say i'm really negative, but then again history itself is negative. i will always agree with the opposition and listen to people's views--i agree not everything can be designed hot and sexy or else it'll only appeal to a small crowd. business strategies are pretty common sense. even Ferrari claim they cannot put out another 360 Modena because it looks too hot. i'm very optimistic underneath and i respect anything anyone does! that is why i have defended many some members from harsh criticism or tried to put them in the right direction instead of stomping on them. i've heard people say the RD1 looks like boobs, or a frog. haha. i agree to that too. but it's the all-round originality that is special. if a curve flows into a curve, the whole thing should be curved.

Visionz, you were always one of my favorite people. i cannot thank you enough for always being in good spirit, so uplifting and helpful. i never joined the FXtreme forum, but I lurked around ever since it first popped up. I used to view the gallery all the time. Then i moved to Zoe's UKCS in 1999/2000. I remember seeing Random and Jaws on the forums. i never joined because i didn't have a Tiburon back then. I got mine in 2002 and registered wrc.com official world rally forums. i had about 3,000 posts there representing Hyundai as best I could before they shut down. it was so much fun, i miss those days. Cardomain was the first time people saw my car.

faith, yeah!! i drive my car every single day! it's the only reason it isn't turbocharged. When Gordon Murray was selecting the BMW V12 engine for the Mclaren F1 back in 1997, he was stubborn to have it N/A. he didn't want to even speak of turbo or supercharging. why? He wanted the Mclaren's engine to be as reliable as possible. i have repaired all of the scuffs now. all of the paint chips are gone now.

i've got a lot of modifications but i don't have time to list all them out. let's just say it's frankentib and the dealership won't have anything to do with it (f 'em they suck anyways). a lot of people from RD helped me. DTN mentored me with all my LED conversion. took over 120 hours. i've personally met some great members and made good friends.

Wow....that story is almost identical to mine with my 04 Accent....little bugger just grew on me...now i have so much done that even if i wanted to i could never get rid of it. Been everywhere trying to get people to respect Hyundai's.

You leaving? This sort of sounded like a goodbye letter or something....
