Mabuhay From The Philippines
Just saying hello to all the forum members. smile.gif
I'm taking care of an RD1 Tiburon, and was perusing the forums for references.
I've found this site to be a great source of information and inspiration about these beautiful and elusive cars on the street.
Cheers!

welcome! you know they have som crazy tibs on the islands... i think they have those FTO powered tibs and some other way fast turbo'ed tibs there. i'd like to see some photos of your car, it's probably beautiful in the 'pines.
take care and hope to see some crazy tibs on here soon.

I haven't done anything to the car...yet. laugh.gif
My father wants to keep the unit in it's original condition. (strange obsession for someone who likes sports cars and performance)
I did the resonator removal before. My father found out because he noticed that the engine sounded...different. hail.gif Had to put back the resonator duct back. I did not place the other piece, the resonator box, back in though. wink1.gif
I guess I could only stick to useful interior modding and maintenance -- like replacing the trunk lamp with something else like Redz did.
...and I think I also need to check out the terminal voltages, I find the lamps too dim for my taste.
Regarding what HyundaiKitCoupe said, I haven't met any Tib user near my area that has a turbo. sad.gif I'd like to have one, but my dad... sad.gif
I did see a rare RD1 during a car meet in the university I'm attending. It was in...hot pink, if I remember correctly. Stock engine bay, but the way the car was painted and detailed quite well. Sadly, I did not get to talk to the owner -- I was going to class when I passed the parking lot leading to the event. sad.gif
I'll put up pictures of the car once I get this digital camera charged.
Regarding the ownership of this baby, I don't think I'll let go of it. cool.gif My ownership experience is...quite different, say, compared to owning a slighted modded Honda. I guess the rarity of the car in the area I'm living it adds quite a bit of eyecandy value.

yeah, i can relate to you on that father matter, i've had to hold back i on a lot of stuff in my old car(s) when i was still with my parents... especially filipino parents
actually, i was born in the philippines. we moved to canada in '97, i was 15 back then. it's only a couple years back when i've heard that there is a hyundai market back there, maybe even a larger aftermarket support from the hyundai homeland.
oh btw, i think HKC meant about those crazy tiburons that i believe from either malaysia or singapore?
good luck with everything

Hmm, I've searched the forums about suspension dips, and the closest I got was about the rear end-sinking problem (which I read, and fing02.gif I learned something new there)
I'd like to ask, while keeping the car stock -- is there a way to reduce front end dip on an RD1?
Sometimes I encounter a speed bump that isn't well-made (a bit too high, has a concrete fracture/breakage), my front end drops, and the underchassis gets a slam on the concrete.
Hoping to receive well-explained answers smile.gif
