Little blank (blank) switch near ignition

oh yeah, def. forgot that other one thats connected behind the stereo surround.
you can do a couple things to get the dimmer switch off.
i take a thin rag and a pair of needle nose pliers. wrap the rag around the pliers, and pull on the dial straight out. if you dont want to do that, you can stick a thin screwdriver behind the little 'surround' for the dial, and then pop it out.
