<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (REDZMAN)</div><div class='quotemain'>If you give out a paper that says "our forum", who's 'US'? What's a "forum"?
It's easier to be PLAIn and say something like "Interested in talking to fellow Tiburon Owners? Looking for aftermarket parts and don't know where to start? Got a 2Fast2Furious fetish? Visit www.rdtiburon.com , the web's premier Car Club for Hyundai and Early Model Tiburon Enthusiasts. 1 great buy a week."</div>
That sounds too much like you're trying to sell something. If I saw that on my car, it would be on the ground and forgotten about.
Honestly - who doesn't know what the word "forum" means? That word is 1000 years old. Chances are, if they don't know what the word forum means, what's the chances they get online much, therefore - what's the chances they care?
Its a good idea - but be honest. RDTib is an online forum.

We are trying to sell something.
We are trying to sell the site.
Duh.
As for "Forum" TONS of folks have no clue what that means.

Ha, I just write on a piece of paper saying:
i like your car, i drive the same....some BS....., are you interested in modding your car, here's a site, here's my number, if you have any questions about your car or need help call me up..etc. Then I fold in and write nice car in sharpie on the outside, stick it under wiper.
This way is way more formal. I call rdtiburon.com a "site" or website where Hyundai owner's get together and chat/help eachother out.
Hey...I'm 1 for 4 now, got one girl to join the NW RD Tuners club. Woo hoo!

Didn't know the site was for sale eyeroll.gif
What I mean is, it sounds like you are trying to get their money by way of offering them a product. Since you are not trying to get there money, and just want them to visit the site, its different, and you are *not* selling anything.
That is, of course, if your motive is not to make money from them.

See, whenever you try to get someone to do or visit somewhere new, you are SELLING the idea to them. This was a fact in the Military when we'd have to SELL the idea of Artillery to the Armored idiots, or to the Infantry Idiots, or whomever, and it's the same here.
Stop being literal.
Don't understand how it sounds like we are trying to get any money. This is a free site, and everyone here knows it. Also, in the little paragraph that I gave some ideas in, no one said anything about a product.
If you are saying...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>1 great buy a week</div>
... sounds like we are selling the site. Uhm. If you say that sounds like we are selling something, then I'd be happy that the 1 idiot that thinks that wouldn't come to the site for THAT reason. The rest of the card or note should easily describe the meaning of the site. And since I know Hyundai tuners pretty good, and they are ALWAYS looking for a deal, this would probably bring in more folks than it turns away.
Bottom line is Kit Fox had a good idea, if we want to make it an official invitation, we need to get a few ideas up and try them out.
Cut out the OT shiz.

The thing is, we're in the real world, not the military barracks.
Its this line:
"Looking for aftermarket parts and don't know where to start? Got a 2Fast2Furious fetish?"
That makes it seem like you're a shady company trying to sell parts.
I agree - Kit Fox has an awesome idea. But the idea was awesome to begin with, and IMO, doesn't need changing.

Uhm, your point? The real world is even more about selling stuff to folks, ideas or items. WTF said anything about military barracks?
Joshuwa, have you turned into a complete idiot now?
<span style="color

Unforutnately this is the REAL WORLD and folks relate to comments like that. Some people's only refrence to import racing or tuning is that horrible movie.

Well, again, if that scares anyone away, they probably wouldn't be a worthwhile member to begin with. No loss.

Unfortunately, he did have a good idea, but 3 pages of posts disagree with you.
