New to the forum. I have a 2001 Tiburon, bought new in 2001. I came to this car from an '86 Fierro and a '92 Mustang.

I know stereos, learning cars.

I've had trouble finding parts for my car. Apparently there's a 2001 and a 2001.5. The shorts shifters are different and I'm wondering what else is different. Same car, same year, 2 revisions is rather strange.

Main interests are in DIY and N/A tuning.

Haven't done much to it:
3" AEM CAI,
B&M Short Shifter
-
Stereo:
Eclipse CD 5441 Head Unit,
Alpine MRD-M605 Amplifier,
Alpine MRV-F345 Amplifier,
Alpine SPX-1775 6.5" Components,
Alpine SPR-69LP 6x9" Speakers,
Alpine SWR-1222D 12" Subwoofer

Welcome to the site aburgard. If you look in the forums section, there is a section that has a list of vendors. We have a lot of Group Buys going on too that you can get in on for certain parts at certain times as well. Anything specific you need advice on or info, just search or ask, the people here are great and very knowledgable on pretty much anything you could imagine, so post away.

i suggest headers and upgrading your exhaust to be your next project

as far as i know, RD2's (00-01) even most of RD1's (97-99) parts are compatible

I'm not sure about the short shifters, but I don't think there is a difference in 00-01 (no 2001.5 that I've heard of).

Where did you buy it from? Welcome to the board... we've always got some goodies for you to buy cool.gif

Welcome to the site man, be prepared to find there is a LOT of parts around for our cars. How did you find us?

This is the CLAIM, but I've still, never, out of the 30 or so RD tibs I've been in, seen a white shifter plate.

Kayjai even looked in his Microfiche and there is NO listing for that part for us at ALL.

My factory e-brake boot needs replacement. Recently I had the dealer take my VIN and order a replacement. The item that came up with the VIN doesn't fit. The plastic bracket is actually quite a different shape.

Looking up e-brake boots for 01 Tiburon at the dealer shows GS and GL options. We've ordered the other one and will see if that fits on Wednesday. An after market option would probably be preferable. I have an Ichibaun (sp?) boot on my shifter and would give it a mediocre rating.

RD.com > HP.com fing02.gif

welcome aboard.

haha, I used to drive a Fiero before my tib as well, no AC, no clutch (had to 'power shift'), no Power Steering, no cruise.

don't worry though, our tibs won't catch fire randomly.
haha.gif I do miss those speakers in the headrest tho.... 02.gif
