Well, folks! My cousin's name is Hyun Ho. Hyun is pronounced like col96fx has it so I go with HeYun-Die.

You guys are nuts.

The CORRECT PRONUNCIATION of Hyundai is...

Hun Dae.

Like SUNDAY.

Trust me. I lived in Korea for 18 months. There is a town called Hyung Dae, I found out, by asking a driver to take me to Hi yun Dae.

There was even a Hyundai commercial before about it, "Hyundai, like Sunday".

#3 if you're British. They pronounce every vowel and syllable. smile.gif

The show 5th Gear did a short test of the new "Hi-yun-Day" Tiburon recently.

I say Hun Dae (like Redz said....Sunday but with a hun at the beginning instead of sun), though the people at the dealership call it Hun-die and they say tiburon funny as well, they say: Tib-U-Ron. I don't think that's right either, I say Hun-Dae Tib-er-on. Every else (like dealerships, junkyard people, employees at auto parts stores say : Hun-Die Tib-U-Ron) it's really freakin annoying...

But it's somethin you just gotta roll with, my car's also been called:
what year eclipse is that...? (<---seriously no resemblance at all LOL)
A honda what...?
oh it's a talon...right?
etc.
search for a thread about nicknames for the tib, there's a long list

awsome how our wonderful names are difficult to pronounce unlike honda, ford, geo, saturn...toyota...etc.

i say it like, "Hundae/Hun-day" or sometimes catch myself with "hondae". same things.

i don't think i will ever get tired of our Names or our logo.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>i usualy tell them its a Porsche or a Korean Ferrari, they usualy walk away at that point</div>

LOL... same thing when i get girls trying to come onto me. if i don't like them, i start rambling about how much Hyundai has to offer. it works like magic.
