I looked under howstuffworks and tried searching the forums, but I didn't find what horsepower and torque actually are. Does torque give you better acceleration and horsepower the top end. Sorry this may seem like stupid question Thanks

Sorry I put in the wrong section, the reason I was wondering was that some of my friends have a lot more hp than torque (V-Tec).

torque is a measure of rotational force.
horsepower is just a measure of torque with relation to a certain engine rpm. i think its 5250 rpm.
