A little Bit about me and my car

I live in Tucson, AZ
I Drive a 2000 Tiburon, Stock with rims
2.0L M/T

Took it out the the dragstrip for the first time tonight, ran a 16.976 @81.65MPH with a .608 R/T
I suppose that's not bad for stock. Funny thing is the better my R/T's got the worse my E/T's got
My last run was a 17.185 @83.06 with a .181 R/T. Better R/T and faster trap but slowwer E/T. I'll never understand that. By the end of the night I was running pretty consistant at 17.1.

Well there's my 2 cents, Any Questions?

Welcome. Time seems a little slow, u race much?

how r ur 60' times?

whered you launch?

Did you burnout or did you go around the waterbox?

how hot was it?

future plans?

EDIT, i just saw your timeslip in the fastest tibs thread.

You need to work on your 60' times, so practice launching and shifting, you want that number down toward 2.1 or so on street tires. Well if you could get 1.5 60' then thad be great too but im just saying shoot for a relistic goal lol.

thatll get you down to high 15's low 16's depending on altitude, temperature, and what mods you put on by then

I posted some of my slips here http://www.rdtiburon.com/index.php?showtopic=17210

This was my first time at the strip

I launched at about 3000

I did hit the water box and burnout, the 2 times i didn't i spun all the way through first gear

As for the temp it was about 9:00 -10:00 P.M. so my best guess would be around 65 F

And as for future plans, after tonight i'm not doing any mods till i get my tranny rebuilt

that's about a regular time. you didn't take any seats out or anything did you? i'm worndering if that's something i would do if i wanted a better time but i kind of want to know how my mods are with everything in the car.

although if you don't tell anybody you took the back seat and front seat out along with some heavy things like the spare tire nobody would know.

welcome to rdtiburon. yeah, you found us good!

didn't take the seats out or anything wanted to see what it would do completely stock, even had a full tank of gas. It tipped the scales at 2834 lbs with me in it. Gonna take everything out that i can for next time and see how much of a defference it makes. I'll post the new weight then too.
