Hey all,
So this is the introduce yourself forum, eh? Well, lets see. As of August of this year I'm the very proud owner of a Blue 2001 Tib, 5 speed of course. smile.gif It came (through a used dealer down near Chicago) with a quality looking CAI and a nicely painted dash, along with a single underglow tube in the front that I both don't need and can't figure out how to turn on... I think it's beautiful, especially considering I upgraded to it from a 1994 Nissan Sentra. I loved the sentra, mind you, but it's just not in the same league. smile.gif
I'm currently a student at Grand Valley State University in my third year, hopefully I'll be graduating from here in a year and a half with a Information Systems degree. Any of you around the area should keep an eye out for me. I spend a bit of time in downtown Grand Rapids since I've also got classes down there. On the side I run a web design business at leeward design (shameless plug, forgive me. wink1.gif).
As for what I plan on doing to my car... well... if it's cheap I'll probably consider it. smile.gif Being a college student and all I don't make a whole lot extra cash. I've got a nice sub setup back home (2x Sony xplode 12"s, Rockford Fosgate 900 watt sub amp, 1 farad Cap, and a smaller Bolt rear amp) that came out of the Sentra that I may put in if I don't find someone local that wants to buy them. I burned through 4 alternators in the Sentra because of the sub draw, and that was without pushing it hard or often, so I'm a bit leary of putting it in this car without investing in a higher-output alt or getting mine rewound. Anyways, I'm also considering putting new rims on the car when I replace the tires before this winter (yes, I'll be driving it year round, I can't afford to buy a winter car... and common, this is Michigan, if you can't handle the snow you should move to Indy) so I'm still looking for a decent priced set of rims to do that with.
So yeah, there ya go. I'll probably be around for a while. I'm still figuring out my new car... I knew my old sentra backwards and forwards (B13 body style with a GA16DE engine) but I still don't even have down completely which model is which for the tib. smile.gif
I'll see you all around!

No kidding? You coming in as a frosh?
Here's some pics, by the way. They're the ones the dealer sent me when we were discussing a deal, I haven't taken any since then.

No, transferring from community as a Jr. I'm a 28yo displaced michigan worker like so many of us that are in college right now. After GVSU I'll be at Cooley Law in GR. So for anybody that needs a Lawyer in 5 years, hit me up. cool.gif

hey welcome to the site!! good choice on buying the tiburon. it's 5-speed. i love those 5-speeds... i want one sooo bad!!!
good luck on future mods. if you want to visit a gallery, there's www.hyundaicoupe.info the UK site. they have the most tiburon pictures ever compiled online together and a forum with a cool picture topic. nice to see hoe different they do things over there.
we're all on here for the same reasons, looking to make the most out of our cars, talk about them, meet friends, and buy mods and aftermarket. we have plenty of recommendations on rims.
please use our search if you need any help with your car, if you can't find anything we will be happy to help out.
